Bioenergy definition: We define bioenergy as a source of energy derived from forest land, forest, manure and municipality waste or energy crops for electricity, heat or transport.
About you:
• We are on the hunt for a dedicated and qualified Investment Banker to join our dynamic bioenergy team as Bioenergy Corporate Investment Banking Expert.
• The biggest benefits of this role are, having to contribute to shaping the potential bioenergy market in Zambia by defining the scope and potential for growth in this sector.
• The biggest challenge of this role will be multitasking and completing documents to adhere to international “client-ready” levels.
• You are familiar with underwriting procedures and regulations, able to liaise with donor agencies and national government agencies
• The current team around this role is made up of a bioenergy feedstock expert, strategic planning & business development, project funding, household/medium/large bioenergy experts, demand expert, gender/social/climate change experts, government procedures expert, monitoring & evaluation and behavioural change communication expert. The team, in general, describes themselves as passionate, adaptable and ultimately, capable.
About the Role – Main purpose and scope of work:
• In this role, your ultimate goal will be to evaluate companies and assist clients in building capital. As our Bioenergy Corporate Investment Banking Expert, you will be responsible for managing mergers, implementing financial models, and preparing legal and financial records.
• Responsible for building good relationships with prospective donors and clients in the bioenergy sector.
• You should have experience managing mergers and selling financial products for corporate and government clients. In addition to being an excellent communicator, the ideal candidate will also possess high-grade quantitative and analytical skills.. .

Duties and key responsibilities:
• Development of various types of financial models to value debt and equity for mergers, acquisitions, and capital raising transactions.
• Perform various valuation methods: comparable companies, precedents, and DCF.
• Conduct preparation and review of materials used in the financing of clients, including investment memoranda, management presentations and pitchbooks.
• Conduct research and review financial information and market trends.
• Write clear and well-informed investment recommendations based on thorough research and analysis.
• Writing funding proposals and submitting these to potential donors.
• Advise on investment strategy for clients.
• Issue debt and trade equity to increase capital.
• Create and implement financial models to review deals and determine profitability.
• Advise on mergers and acquisitions.
• Advise on IPOs and private equity settlements.
• Lead and support clients through the expansion of corporate and personal enterprise.
• Prepare legal and financial records to complete investments, acquisitions, and purchases.
• Examine all risks and give financial advice.
• Identify and close potential investors.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of regulatory and legal issues in the financial industry.

  Required Qualifications / Minimum Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• > 5 years work experience.
• Worked for 2 organisations (> 2 years’ experience with each).
• Professional certification (e.g. CFA)
• Working knowledge of MS Excel Formulas.
• Working knowledge of MS Word Styles.
• Working knowledge of MS PowerPoint Shape Formatting
