The Zambian Youth Platform (ZYP) whose vision seeks to see a “Zambia where young people are empowered and fully participate in social, economic and political development” was established in the year 2015 as a nonpartisan platform for youth leaders, youths and youth workers. It is a mechanism for mobilization of youths, youth leaders and youth workers and their organizations to:
Take action on critical issues affecting the youth through coordinated youth voices
Holding government and its key partners accountable on youth priority and commitments.
Protect the interest of youths in all aspects through effective and coordinated representation.
Promote and support youth participation in decision making.
ZYP is seeking to recruit Eight (8) eligible, qualified, competent and passionate young people aged 18-30 years to apply for the positions of Community Facilitators to implement its Youth – Community Accountability Project (Y-CAP) in Limulunga and Mazabuka Districts. The Six (6) months Project which seeks to implement a youth friendly Social Accountability Framework to monitor and feedback successes and challenges related to services delivered under the Global Fund investments will be funded by GIZ Back-Up Health will be funded by GIZ Back-Up Health. Further, the projects will leverage the findings of Community Based Monitoring to influence national strategies and policies around the health, rights and needs of adolescents and young people. The Accountability Framework emphasises a spirit of community understanding and ownership of national programming. Unpacking personal perceptions and experience will contribute to better collaboration and partnership between communities and program implementers, leading to a more inclusive model of country ownership of national programs.
The Accountability Framework is to gather qualitative evidence (with support from the CCM and PRs) to inform implementers on the quality of programs, ensuring that interventions continue to be relevant and to support young people’s leadership for advocacy, meaningful participation and accountability. It uses simple language and available techniques that support young people in communities to monitor and feedback successes and challenges on program delivery implemented by Principle Recipients (PRs) and Sub Recipients (SRs), who report to the CCM on Global Fund interventions. The framework also supports young people already engaged to collect qualitative rights-based data to monitor the Global Fund’s role across Zambia. This would support the quantitative data collected to measure progress around young people and AGYW.
Terms of appointment:
• The contractual period is Six (6) Months effective August 2019 to January, 2020
Benefits:
• The position comes with a monthly stipend; transport, lunch and communication allowance. .

This could compliment the indicators that currently only count numbers.
• Education: Possession of a certificate in psycho social counseling, any of qualification in Development Studies, Social Work, Social Sciences, HIV/AIDS/TB/Malaria training or related field is required.
• Prior Work Experience: One to two years of progressively responsible experience in working with adolescents and young people is required. Previous experience with local community based organisation is required. Direct work experience in community of residence or youth group and health facility is required. Data collection and community engagement experience is required. Experience working in the field of HIV/TB/malaria and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR); experience in implementing/reviewing/assessing community‐based health care programmes (preferably TB, HIV and/or malaria, experience in monitoring and evaluating community‐based health or development projects.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in speaking, reading and writing English and any of the prominent local language in the qualifying District.
• Job Knowledge: A good understanding of host-district economic, social, cultural and political context is necessary. Knowledge of Global Fund processes, programming policies, regulations, methodologies and documentation is desirable. Knowledge of community‐based programmes, organisations, NGOs, their networks and their links with local and national governments..

• The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, is necessary.
• The ability to obtain, evaluate, and analyze data and to prepare precise, accurate, and complete information for required reporting is necessary.
• The ability to operate a smart phone is required.
• Ability to understand emerging issues from area of operation and bring it to the attention of supervisors is required.
• The ability to attend to several tasks is required.
• Ability to address inequalities faced by young people and a commitment to working with diverse young people on HIV/TB/malaria issues in local community is required.
• Ability to write success stories and maintain client confidentiality is required.
• Conversant with twitter, facebook or other social media applications on the internet to convey a message to members of the public.
