JOB DETAILS:
Overview
The Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low-and middle-income countries, while strengthening the capabilities of governments and the private sector in those countries to create and sustain high-quality health systems that can succeed without our assistance. Although there has been a remarkable decline in new HIV infections over the last two decades, evidence show that there has been a stagnation in the reduction of new cases globally since 2018. It is also evident that despite the existence and implementation of multiple effective prevention interventions, there has been an increase in new HIV infections among certain geographies and populations. Thus, scaling up access to safe, effective prevention options that meet the needs of those at high risk of HIV is essential to eliminating new HIV infection and reaching epidemic control. However, various barriers – individual and systemic –persist, limiting the impact of proven HIV prevention interventions, especially in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). CHAI is currently working with Ministries of Health in SSA and a broad range of partners globally, to accelerate the development, introduction, and scale up of HIV prevention interventions. CHAI is leveraging, documenting, and sharing lessons from supporting the scale up of VMMC and oral PrEP to strengthen HIV prevention program integration, outcomes, and sustainability and to advance planning for CAB-LA and the dual prevention pill (DPP) introduction.

CHAI’s HIV Access Program is looking for an Analyst, HIV Prevention. The Analyst will work closely with CHAI global and country teams to execute CHAI’s HIV prevention strategy and activities in the focus countries. The Analyst will support implementation of in-country activities, conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses that address key programmatic issues identified across prevention programs and support engagement with internal and external stakeholders to ensure HIV prevention country responses are locally-owned and sustainable.

CHAI is seeking a highly motivated individual with outstanding credentials and demonstrated analytical ability and communication skills for the role. The candidate must be able to function independently and flexibly and have a strong commitment to excellence. The Analyst is comfortable synthesizing large amounts of quantitative and qualitative information into cogent recommendations. The Analyst will report to the Program Manager on the HIV Prevention team.

Responsibilities
• Support CHAI country teams to catalyze in-country implementation to align with broader grant goals, including day-to-day analytical support.
• Support use of evidence among CHAI teams to inform strategic decision-making and identify gaps in policy and implementation to create effective and sustainable combination HIV prevention response.
• Structure and drive key quantitative and qualitative analyses around major programmatic issues such as target setting, demand generation, resource mapping and support presentation development on key findings.
• Support development of clear presentations for country and global teams to share analysis, findings and recommendations on ongoing work streams.
• Support maintaining program databases and dashboards for performance monitoring and evaluation.
• Undertake primary and secondary research and synthesize knowledge to deliver data-driven insights to inform approaches and strategies to support HIV program transition and sustainability in the focus countries as needed.
• Support generation of cross-country analysis, learnings and the development of processes and tools to facilitate knowledge sharing and dissemination with country, regional and global stakeholders.
• Collaborate with CHAI teams to ensure skills transfer and government ownership, identifying the most critical hurdles, and develop innovative strategies to address them.
• Be involved in various aspects of program operations including monitoring & evaluation, donor reporting, and planning & logistics.
• Other responsibilities as needed by team.

Qualifications

• Ability to function independently, with some structural or operational support;
