JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
To install, repair, and maintain electrical fixtures, equipment, and wiring at Bank of Zambia office premises, commercial and residential properties.

Main Accountabilities
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions in electrical equipment, wiring, and fixtures; replaces and repairs malfunctioning motors, switches, wiring, and fixtures and other electrical equipment.
• Installs and connects electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to specifications and ensure that electrical equipment is installed correctly.
• Operates various power tools to splice wires, solder connections, cut and drill wiring holes for fixtures and to attach and anchor fixtures and conduit; operates various meters to test voltage, amperage and continuity of electrical circuits to do works that are assigned.
• Completes work orders for each project by listing the amount of time and materials used for supervisors to plan for the works as well as prepare materials.
• Performs preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, fixtures, wiring, pumps and motors to reduce break downs and prolong the lifespan of equipment.

Qualifications and Experience
• Advance Certificate in Electrical or equivalent
• Three (3) years relevant experience
• Grade 12 School Certificate with a minimum of five (5) ‘O’ Levels (Credit or better)
• Must be a member of EIZ

Key Knowledge and Attributes
• Ability to read wiring drawings and able to follow wiring schedules.
• Good understanding of auxiliary switching equipment such as timers, contractors and simple relays.
• Computer literate and fully conversant with the Microsoft office package.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
