JOB DETAILS:
Purpose of the role:
• To source suitable and reputable suppliers to ensure high quality goods and services are procured for the company on time at the best value in line with company procedures and goals.
• Reports to: Senior Buyer

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Incumbent will be required to perform but not limited to the following tasks:
• Identify and source potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify cost-effective purchasing opportunities.
• Review and analyze purchase requisitions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and contracts, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
• Manage supplier relationships, including monitoring performance, resolving issues, and conducting supplier performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and specifications.
• Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, price, delivery, and other relevant factors.
• Monitor and track procurement activities, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information.
• Participate in the development and implementation of cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Ensure Procurement activities related to projects are planned.
• Determined best procurement methods.
• Source suitable suppliers as and when required.
• Negotiated favorable payment and delivery terms with suppliers.
• Negotiating to ensure Total Cost of Ownership is the basis of every procurement decision.
• Ensure open POs are monitored weekly & followed up on time.
• Provide feedback on supplier performance.
• Expedite delivery of stock
• Ensure emergency items sourced on time.
• Ensure back order managed accurately and on time.
• Resolve all queries quickly and effectively.

Qualifications & Experience
• Grade 12 Certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement/Supply Chain Management/CIPS or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement in Mining/Factory/Industrial environment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Member of ZIPS.

• Ability to analyze and interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to and prioritize meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build maintain and relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in procurement processes.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficient in using procurement software and other relevant tools.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to procurement
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
• Knowledge of Supply Chain Management and Logistics.
• Conflict Handling Skills
• Cost Awareness/Budgeting
• In depth knowledge and understanding of the Business
