JOB DETAILS:
Description of task Under the direct supervision of the FFF National Facilitator and technical backstopping from the FFF Manager through the Country coach, the UN Volunteer will be expected to work with the National FFF Facilitator in the implementation of the Forest and Farm Facility (FFF) Programme in Zambia in close collaboration with the FFF country partners. .

Job Responsibilities:
• Support the National Forest and Farm Facility Facilitator in the development of in-country Forest and Farm Facility Climate Resilient Landscape Programme framework and annual work plans with the direct FFF partners in particular, the Cotton Association of Zambia and Zambia National Forest Commodities Association (ZNFCA (main Forest and Farm Producer Organisation partners) and relevant government institutions, and in consultation with FAO Representative and the FFF Management Team;
• Support strengthening of internal governance and institutional outreach of Apex smallholder Forestry organizations.
• Document lessons learned from the implementation of the FFF Climate Resilient Landscape Programme for sharing during the monitoring and learning exercises.
• Support the FFF Programme in implementing and monitoring gender mainstreaming in all Zambian activities and compliance of 12% budget allocation for gender mainstreaming activities.
• Participate in the country scoping studies for the implementation of the FFF in the country.
• Participate in conducting baseline studies for all implementing partners in the country;
• Support the planning and facilitating exchange and peer-to-peer visits for experience and knowledge sharing among female and male farmers, forest and farm producer organizations, private sector. etc. in and outside the county;
• Develop and maintain a gender sensitive data base (including youth variable) of and establish communication channels to FFF partners at all levels;
• Support the communication strategy of partners of FFF Phase II in Zambia with specific attention for gender and youth issues;
• Assist in developing innovative ways of implementing activities and reporting results of FFF phase II to partners and donors;
• Support in the preparation of monthly and annual reports (including images – with captions and photo credits, press releases, radio programmes and other coms activities) to the FFF management team and national stakeholders on implementation progress, monitoring and learning experience;
• Assist in identifying synergies with FFF related initiatives in Zambia;
• Support FFF partners in participating in national, regional and global FFF events and other policy platforms relevant to FFF implementation;
• Support in the facilitation of basic FFF tools to partner FFPOs, such as the FFPO self-assessment tool, proposal writing workshops, risk management, Open FORIS, Community Forest Management guidelines, Utilization of Integrated Land Use (ILUA) date sets etc.;
• Assist in finding/promoting improved technologies /innovations in the technical solution needs for the project;
• Perform any other related tasks as may be required.
Follow up on selection and implementation of small grants
• Support the compliance of FAO guidelines for procurement of goods and services of small grants;
• Document lessons learned from the implementation of the small grants and feed into monitoring and learning framework.
Support the monitoring and learnings in the country
• Support the development of a participatory monitoring and learning framework for FFF (country) and facilitate its implementation;
• Insert qualitative and quantitative information to update progress of the Monitoring &earning country-indicators in FFF’s FORIS system;
• Support the preparation of the monthly and annual reports to the FFF management team on progress on country outputs and inform on new trends/initiatives.

• Entry level degree in forestry, natural resources management, social and/or political science, international relations, business management or other field relevant to the assignment;
• Good written and communication skills in English;
• Gender sensitive.

• Entry level degree in forestry, natural resources management, social and/or political science, international relations, business management or other field relevant to the assignment;


Job Experience Requirements:
• Experience in application of new technologies in data collection, analysis and reporting;
• Experience in application of community forest and value addition of forest products for market creation.
