JOB DETAILS:
Job title: Chief Finance Officer

Main Purpose
To develop and direct financial strategy, financial assurance, controls and reporting to ensure that NICO Insurance Zambia remains financially viable and profitable using generally accepted accounting standards to achieve the company’s strategy.

a. Management of Audit Assignments
8. Management of the Finance Department
a. Monthly Work Plan
b. Reward Schemes reports
9. KEY DECISIONS:
a. Decide on Finance strategy
b. Decide on overall financial internal and assurance controls
10. ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
a. Finance Strategy formulation and preparation of budgets
b. Statutory Compliance
c. Financial Management and Statutory Reporting
11. JOB REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
a. First degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent
b. Professional Qualification in Accounting & Finance ACCA , CIMA, CA Zambia or equivalent
c. Post Graduate Qualification in Any related Field
12. EXPERIENCE
a. Financial Management and Reporting, experience including a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Management position
13. SKILLS / COMPETENCIES
a. Ability to lead, manage and develop staff
b. Ability to identify, communicate and implement the agreed business objectives for the strategic business units
c. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
d. Ability to plan and organise work on medium to long term basis
e. Sound business acumen, resourceful and be a lateral thinker
f. Ability to exceed set targets
14. MEMBERSHIP / AFFILIATION
a. Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA), in good standing
15. REPORT TO:
a. The Chief Executive Officer
