Our client in Zambia Central Province is looking for a Commercial Farm Manager to join their team for a vacancy in the agriculture sector.

Please note that preference goes to candidates that have worked in Zambia before.

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Farm Manager to oversee all operations on our agricultural property. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, crop production, equipment maintenance, budgeting, and overall farm profitability. The Commercial Farm Manager will work closely with the Director of Agriculture to develop and implement strategic plans to achieve business objectives.

Responsibilities:
• Manage all daily operations of the commercial farm, including planting, harvesting, irrigation, and pest control
• Supervise and train farm staff, including hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations
• Develop and implement crop rotation schedules and soil fertility management plans
• Maintain and repair farm equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety
• Monitor and analyze farm financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue generation
• Coordinate with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers to fulfill farm operational needs
• Monitor market trends and make strategic decisions to maximize farm profitability
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and environmental standards
• Collaborate with the Director of Agriculture to develop and implement long-term strategic plans for farm growth and expansion

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial farming operations, with proven leadership and management skills
• Strong knowledge of crop production, soil science, irrigation systems, and pest management techniques
• Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic planning
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and agricultural software programs
