Job title: Fundraising & Administration Manager

Overveiw
Are you an experienced and enthusiastic fundraiser who would enjoy the opportunity to live just outside of Livingstone in Zambia and work for a charitable cause? The Tongabezi Trust School (www.tujatane.com) is presently seeking a new Fundraising and Administration Manager to start in January 2022. We are an Independent Primary School in Zambia with around 280 pupils from Pre School to Grade 9. We offer top-quality education to vulnerable children within our rural community, 20 km’s from Livingstone in Zambia.
The School receives a large amount of its funding through its registered UK Charity.

Key Responsibilities
To develop, lead and implement the fundraising strategy so that it meets the needs of the school now and in the long term. Managing relationships with existing and potential donors with the possibility of exploring new fundraising streams. To design creative and unique ways of providing feedback to donors and ensure each relationship is personal and special. To develop and manage fundraising events, marketing material and income-generating “products”. To be an active, constructive support member of the Management Team as well as overseeing the work of the Administration and Finance Officer. To carry out all the administration related to the role – and to have fun!

Experience & Qualifications
• Degree level education.
• Knowledge and understanding of the not-for-profit sector.
• Experience in fundraising, with a track record of generating income from a variety of sources.
• Experience in managing a Database.
• Computer literate in particular with MS Word, Excel and Publisher.
• Experience in managing staff and budgets.
• Experience in communicating with international donors and partners.
• Experience in managing social media

Skills
• Strong written and spoken communication skills, for report writing, marketing materials, communicating with donors
• Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and engage potential and existing donors
• Strong team-working orientation, with the ability and social skills to work collaboratively with staff at all levels
• Numerate, with the ability to understand a budget
• Highly organised, with a high standard of attention to detail
• Computer literate, in particular with MS Word and Excel

• Self-motivated and self-disciplined, driving their workload and setting their priorities, with limited supervision
• Able to build strong and enduring relationships with existing and potential donors
• Able to manage a highly varied and busy workload, in a demanding setting
• Creative and has a proactive approach to all areas of work
• Committed to delivering a high-quality service
• Able and willing to carry out their administrative tasks
• Willing and able to work outside normal working hours when the needs of the job require it
• Target-driven with strong negotiation skills and the ability to show evidence of outstanding fundraising/selling skills.

This package includes a competitive salary and a 2 bedroom house on site.
