Zambia Red Cross Society (ZCRS) is implementing a Project named “Pilot Programmatic Partnership (PPP)” funded by the European Union ECHO, in partnership with the Netherlands Red Cross (NLRC) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC).

One aspect of this project is to measure and limit the environmental impact of ZRCS activities.

ZRCS is therefore requesting an energy audit on its main HQ office as per below scope of work:

SCOPE OF WORK

a)    Analyze the energy load profile of the office building

• Evaluate the yearly consumption from Zesco and GenSet
• Evaluate day vs night consumption
• Evaluate seasonality of consumption
• Estimate the consumption split between categories ACs, lighting, computers, printers, kettle, pumps, appliances
• Analyze the building (structure, insulation, windows, doors, ventilation)
• Estimate the volume and cost of paper and toner used

b)    Propose amelioration options with costs and return on investment

• For each category, propose solutions when relevant with estimated consumption reduction and costs

c)     Propose solar complement system based on current consumption with detailed costed BOQ and estimated Return On Investment

Methodology
a)     Available documents to the consultants:

b)     Consultancy steps

i.          Initial briefing with ZRCS

ii.          Access available documents

iii.          Site visit with measurements

iv.          Initial energy performance of the site

v.          Proposal for single improvements for financial, thermal, environmental and energetics gains with cost estimates and payback periods

vi.          Proposal of works scenarios combining 1 or several improvements

vii.          Submission of a draft summary report and presentation in a meeting

Duration of the consultancy
The consultants should estimate the hours requested for performing the study. The interval between the initial briefing and the submission of the draft summary report is not expected to be superior to 15 days.

Main deliverables

• Detailed report of the exercise with costed recommendations
• Detailed costed BOQ for solar installation.
• Presentation of main recommendations

• Execution plan and work schedule for the works outlined herein together with all other works that the consultant, in their professional opinion, deems incidental to or necessary for this type of assignment.
• 3 traceable previous works done similar to the works and requirements outlined herein. These can be demonstrated by reports, references or completion certificates.

• Valid tax clearance, valid up to December 2024
• PACRA registration certificate
• Evidence of Affiliation with Necessary Regulatory Bodies
