JOB DETAILS:
An international NGO active in humanitarian aid and development cooperation is implementing a project with the title Multi-sectoral interventions to prevent the spread and mitigate the impact of COVID-19 pandemic in Western Province and Lusaka, Zambia. The project aims at strengthening public health responses and improving community awareness, to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and mitigating its impact on the affected livelihoods and agriculture markets; is looking for a PROCUREMENT ASSISTANT .
Responsibilities :
• Support Project Accountant – Administration Officer
• Carry-out project procurement related activities
• Estimate and establish cost and budgets for purchases
• Maintain records of purchases, pricing and other important data
• Create and maintain good relationships with vendors/suppliers
• Assist in the entire procurement process including review and analysis of vendors/suppliers, supply and price options, conduct bidding analysis
• Develop plans for purchasing equipment, services and supplies
• Negotiate the best deal for pricing and supply of goods and services
• Ensure high quality of products/services procured and their timely delivery
• Maintain and update list of suppliers
• Maintain asset registers
• Support administration and logistics of the project office

Requirements:
• Tertiary education: Diploma in CIPS and current member of Zambia Institute ot Purchasing and supply and CIPS or tertiary education in Business Administration, Accounting or related field
• Proven related experience of at least 2 years in procurement and project finance and accounting
• Excellent computer skills – MS office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet
• Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is an advantage
• Fluent in English – written and spoken
• Diligent, accurate and precise attention to detail, highly organized
• Integrity and willingness to work and produce results in a dynamic environment
• Ability to analyse problems and strategize for better solutions
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
• Committed, team worker, reliable and hardworking,
