Overview
Kwame Nkrumah University invites application letters from qualified and sufficiently motivated members of the public to fill the following vacancy:
Purchasing and Supplies Manager (01)
Job Purpose:
To manage all the procurements of the University, including maintenance and monitoring of procurement systems to ensure compliance with the procurement rules and regulations as provided in the Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) Act No. 8 of 2020.

Principal Accountabilities:
• To develop annual procurement plans for the University in line with annual work plans and budgets and ensure value for money in all procurement activities of the University.
• To manage and launch invitations to tenders including preparation of tender documents in compliance with Zambia Public Procurement Authority Act No. 8 of 2020 and ensure all procurements are conied out according to tender procedures, procurement guidelines and in a transparent and accountable manner.
• To manage and monitor all contracts for goods. Services and works entered into by the University
• To manage and organize the Procurement Section processes and ensure that there is maximum efficiency, cost effectiveness and that all purchases represent value for money.
• To provide secretarial services to the University Procurement Committee and advise the Vice-Chancellor on all matters relating to procurement activities and procedures.

Qualifications and Personal Attributes:
• Must have a Grade 12 Certificate with at least 05 Credits that must include English language.
• Must possess a university degree in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management and/or related field.
• Must possess at least five (5) years practical experience in the some capacity in a reputable organization in Supply Chain Management
• Must possess effective oral and written communication skills.
• Must be a fully paid-up member of Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS) with a valid Practicing License.
• Must be computer literate.
