JOB DETAILS:
What you would be expected to do:
Strategic Inputs
• Assist Country representative in defining operational plans in working with implementing partners within the framework of the country strategy.
• Assist Country representatives in ensuring that strategic resolutions regarding programs are implemented.
• Apply strategic and innovative vision to drive project progress, ensure stakeholder engagement, and overcome any implementation obstacles that the projects may encounter.
Programme Management
• Provide innovative and creative ideas for sustainability and expansion of Sun King’s programs across markets under your purview.
• Ensure that Country Program Managers/Associates are following Sun King’s as well as technical specialists’ recommendations, on program standards and quality, as well as the guidance of the Country Representative
• Ensure all programs (across markets under your purview) are completed within the appropriate time frame, within budget and achieve their goals.
• Monitor project implementation, communication, and reporting across markets under your purview.
• Coordinate with and assist the country’s PMs to implement projects according to the project document and work plan.
• Regularly monitor the progress against the work plan and the quality and impact of interventions.
• Facilitate regular field trips (at least 2 weeks a month) for supervision and discussion of each programme, define constraints, priorities, plans of action, etc.
• Ensure good coordination between the programme, logistics, administration and finance departments and other stakeholders.
Human Resource Management/Administration
• Help and guide the country team.
Provide timely feedback to country representatives to ensure optimal performance of project staff.
Providing ongoing problem-solving guidance for implementing. partners/project staff regarding programmatic issues, planning issues, and difficulties encountered with local authorities.
Supervise and assist the country team on matters relating to Human Resources, finance and administration.
Financial Management and Compliance
Ensure all internal controls are in place and efficiently complied with.
Ensure compliance with Sun King’s and financial & operational policies for audits & transparency purposes.
Monitor the project and project budgets to ensure their effective implementation and fund utilisation.
Timely identify project re-appropriation requirements and drive the process of recommending/seeking donor approvals on changes/revisions in projects’ scope, budget and timeline, if required.
Reporting
Draft quality monthly programme narrative reports. A high-quality presentation on project progress and results;
Ensure timely drafting and submission of reports.
Ensure preparation of monthly, and quarterly reports by stipulated deadlines.
Ensure communication protocols are adhered to at all times according to Sun King’s communication guidelines and Seniority.
Monitoring and Evaluation
• Assist country representatives in evaluating and monitoring programmes to ensure they are meeting goals and take actions to improve achievements and level of impact.
• Assist in planning, coordinating & implementing ex-post evaluations of programme or project processes and impact.
• Assist in developing monitoring criteria and systems for the programme.
• Assist in developing effective monitoring and evaluation frameworks and mechanisms in coordination with country Program Manager/Associate
• Arrange frequent workshops for Programs Managers/Associates to review and plan progress.
Networking and Advocacy
• Represent Sun King in meetings as and when required.
• Coordinate and liaise with all stakeholders, including government, communities and partners for longer-term sustainability of the project interventions.
• Maintain good working relationships with Stakeholders and implementing partners and seek opportunities to coordinate activities with service delivery channels and local structures.
Security & Safety
• Assist country representatives in maintaining a regular system of monitoring security threats and dissemination of information to all staff.
• Ensure compliance with Sun King and government security guidelines and instructions at all times.
• Keep management informed on all security matters, policies and developments.
• Other tasks in line with the essential functions mentioned.

You might be a strong candidate if you:
Education
• A Bachelor’s Degree preferred (alternatively a Diploma/Certificate will be considered) with at least 5-6 years of programme management experience
2-3 years in a managerial position will be a great advantage
• Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management
• Professional (PgMP) Certification and/or its equivalent will be a great advantage

Experience
• Experience synthesising and using data/evidence for program design;
• Experience working on community-based initiatives with government officials and other stakeholders in decentralised settings;
• Demonstrated experience in participatory methods and approaches such as PRA/RRA/PLA
• A clear knowledge of the development environment and the issues facing the implementation of development projects
• Experience in designing and developing development programmes and projects
• Proven expertise in driving meetings, working with partners and managing complex projects
• Positive attitude and ability to work with colleagues with diverse backgrounds
• Strong problem-solving, negotiation, communication and networking skills
• Strong skills in impact assessment and learning
Ability and skills to write concise reports and high-quality proposals in English
• Fluency in English and the residence country’s local language
Willingness and ability to travel in difficult environments

Skills
• Domain Knowledge: Project/Program Management Professional
• Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as a proven ability to document and articulate results for diverse audiences;
• Ability to design and implement service delivery research with strong skills in study design and instrument development;
• Capacity to compile and report data for key programmatic output, outcome, and impact indicators including routine data validation;
• Demonstrated ability to work as a team, a professional fashion and communicate with partners, and colleagues with a high level of tact and diplomacy;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel) and other computer applications (e.g. Google applications and documents);
• Demonstrated capacity in research and evaluation ethics and standards of quality;
• Fluent spoken and written English and Nepali required, proficiency in local languages preferred;
• A reliable manager and team player, with the ability to meet high-performance standards and drive teams to meet and/or exceed expectations and goals;
• Strong problem-solving skills;
• High attention to detail and self-starter mentality.
