JOB DETAILS:
Duties and Responsibilities
• Preserve order and protect persons and property in UN premises.
• Carry out 24-hour Access Control at the UN Facilities, screens visitors, Contractors, UN staff members, Visitors, and other personnel.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for UN staff members, Contractors, Visitors and other personnel.
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols throughout UN premises for the purpose of intercepting unauthorized persons attempting to have gained entry to the premises, reporting all security, fire and safety violations to the Security Control Centre.
• Provide information and directions to all persons associated with the organization.
• Control, identify and clear pedestrian and vehicular traffic entering and exiting the premises; maintain logbooks and records as required.
• Maintain alertness for any potential or actual breaches of security and any disturbances or unusual activity; respond to and report disturbances, unusual activities or breaches in accordance with procedures.
• Perform surveillance and security checks on UN terrain, facilities, and assets
• Assist in the safe evacuation of personnel when required to do so.
• Respond to all other incidents as required. Acts in a proactive manner to ensure safety and security of personnel and assets.
• Responsible for receipt, screening and recording of documents and packages delivered to UN.
• Conducts receptionist duties when required, issues and controls badges and keys, maintaining accurate records and logs.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned by supervisor. Act in a proactive manner to ensure safety and security of personnel and assets.

• Records and report information in accordance with established procedures, using established tools and technology including database systems, hand-held devices, and radio communications.
• Operate security systems and functions at all security posts including Security Control Room and other established posts.
• Perform other Administrative and logistics functions of UNDSS.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Skills and Experience
• Educational Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent, a University Degree is desirable
• Years of Experience: A minimum experience in police, military or security services of the United Nations or other similar international organization is desirable
• Language: Proficiency in English (both oral and written) is required
• Other Requirements: UNDSS/UNDP reserves the right to conduct background checks on applicants, including but not limited to reference checks with previous employers and criminal records
