JOB DETAILS:
Underground Manager
Job Purpose
To plan and execute all development and production and related auxiliary activities for the underground mine operations and provide all technical services required to achieve the set targets for short, long and life of mine periods. .

Job Accountabilities:
• Manage, scrutinize and oversee that underground production tonnages and grades of ore plans done through the cave control, long and short range sections are realistic and can be achieved safely and economically without damage to the equipment
• Populate budgetary requirements and manage the scheduling of Human Capital, finances and other resources required for running the mining operations.
• Ensure that all development plans done through short range and blasting engineering section are focused to achieve required targets to pave way for smooth production.
• Enforce best practice and efficiencies to effectively implement mining activities with minimized production Costs.
• Enforce good safety and health standards in all the mining areas to avert accidents to any employees. and no damage to any equipment for continual smooth operations.
• Plan and control budget for the department.
• Train and mentor subordinates.

  Requirements:
• Degree in Mining Engineering from a recognized university.
• A minimum of ten (10) years post qualification experience in mining operations.
• Work experience in production and technical department is essential.
• Should have working knowledge of computer software for geology modeling, reserve evaluation and mine planning scheduling.
• Able to act strategically and innovative.
• Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
• Registered Engineer

Job Education Requirements: Degree in Mining Engineering

Job Experience Requirements: A minimum of fifteen (10) years

Work Hours: 8
