Zambia Forestry and Forest Industries Corporation Plc Request for Proposals on Strategic Business Partnership in Commercial Apiculture from ZAFFICO forests

The Zambia Forestry and Forest Industries Corporation PLC ("ZAFFICO") is a forestry company whose core business is to establish and manage pine and eucalyptus plantations. Our business extends to harvest and commercially process timber for supply to the local and foreign markets. The Corporation is listed on the Lusaka Securities Exchange and the Government of the Republic of Zambia through the Industrial Development Corporation holds 63% of the shares and remaining 37% held by institutionalinvestors, general public and ZAFFICO employees. Currently, ZAFFICO manages approximately 57,100 hectares of Pine, Eucalyptus and Gmelina Plantations on the Copperbelt, Luapula, Muchinga, Northern and North-Western Provinces. Further, ZAFFICO owns approximately 17.970 and 24,000 hectares of natural forests in Luapula and Muchinga Provinces respectively. In line with the Corporation's strategic focus of diversification and value addition, ZAFFICO is looking for a strategic entity or entities to partner with the Corporation for the purpose of venturing into Beekeeping. Arising from the foregoing, ZAFFICO invites interested Zambian registered entities with proven expertise in apiculture to submit detailed and comprehensive business proposals on the possibility of partnering with ZAFFICO to commercially establish apiaries and harvest honey from ZAFFICO forests which should include, but not limited to the following:
