JOB OPPORTUNITY
The Mulungushi International Conference Centre (MICC) Limited invites applications from suitably qualified Zambians to fill the following vacant position.
POSITION – ASSISTANT IT OFFICER (1)
Reporting to the Finance Manager
POSITION PURPOSE:
Information Technology services perform a critical role in supporting and managing MICC Limited’s computer systems, equipment and providing support services.
The Assistant IT Officer role is responsible for supporting all aspects of the IT systems and services. Additionally, the role includes responsibility for ensuring the security and integrity of computer operations and systems development in accordance with MICC Limited’s Strategic Plan & IT Plan. .

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
• Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.
• Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures ensuring the integrity of MICC Limited’s network is not compromised.
• Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems.
• Replacing faulty network hardware components when required.
• Assisting staff or clients through a series of actions, either face to face; email or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues.
• Reviews vendor contracts and coordinates IT purchases (hardware, software and services) to ensure effective deployment of solutions are aligned with user needs.
• Participates in the documentation and implementation of policies and standard operating procedures consistent with those of MICC Limited to ensure the effective operation of an organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate or General Certificate of Education (GCE) Equivalent
• Relevant IT-related Diploma/BSc and at least 3 years of progressively responsible work experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL:
• Experience with the management and support of various software, including Windows Server, Windows 7/8/10, Microsoft Office, Sage Evolution/Pastel, etc.
• Experience with financial/accounting packages such as Sage Evolution/Pastel.
• An understanding of IT Management and administration.
• Proven experience as an IT Officer or similar roles.
• Experience with networking (LAN, WAN) and network troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of system security and data backup/recovery.
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills (written/verbal).
DESIRABLE:
• Experience with various software, including Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, VMWare vSphere, etc.
• Knowledge of current trends and developments in information technology.
• Skill in organizing resources and ability to prioritize workload.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a team
• Ability to think logicall
