JOB DETAILS:
Lumwana Mining Company Limited (LMC), a copper mining company owned by Barrick Gold Corporation is situated in the Northwestern region of Zambia, some 300 km west of the Zambian Copperbelt and 95 km southwest of the provincial capital of Solwezi. The mine is a multi-pit, multi staged operation mining approximately 100MT of ore and waste per annum and producing copper concentrates containing an average of 120,000 tonnes of copper metal per year over a twenty (20) year mine life, making Lumwana the largest single open cut copper mine in Africa. The Company is now looking for an experienced and qualified individual to be considered for the position of Mechanical Technologist/Technicians Interns.

Role Summary
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor/Condition Monitoring Engineer, your duties will include but not limited to the following;

Responsibilities
• Carry out maintenance activities assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor in accordance with safe work procedures (SWP)
• Identify and resolve issues associated with breakdown/corrective maintenance in a timely manner
• Review and update the equipment Job plans and SOPS
• Work with execution supervisors to undertake task planning and create data base.
• Review and update equipment critical spares and develop demand plan.
• Review and update the Material Data Governance e.g., material descriptions in SAP.
• Provide technical support to mechanical maintenance execution supervisors, and artisans
• Assists develop sketches and drawings for various spares (OEM spares) and small projects
• Work with execution team to carry out physical check of critical spares in stock and ensure the specifications are correct before use.
• Develop and update equipment historical data (component life)
• Develop and update equipment condition and equipment performance monitoring data base Scope out or validate, as appropriate, work order assigned tasks in terms of labor hour estimates, parts, materials, specialized tooling, etc.
• To assist with daily inspection and predictive maintenance checks on rotating machinery defined by computerized maintenance management system (CCMS) SAP.
• To assist the condition monitoring Technician with the Collection of vibration data and oil samples from fixed plant as per requirement.
• To Perform thermography, Ultrasound surveys and Laser alignment on equipment as required under the guidance of the condition monitoring Technician/ Engineer.
• To assist in Creating work order requests for corrective work resulting from condition monitoring data analysis.
• To be actively involved in the implementation of reliability improvements (Projects).

Experience & Qualifications
• Minimum Grade 12 School Certificate
• Must be a recent graduate from a recognized learning institution
• Technician/Diploma or equivalent technical qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
• Good communication Skills
• Willingness to Learn
• Attention to detail
