JOB DETAILS:
Reports to Research Coordinator, the incumbent supports the study with recruitment and retention and works closely with the clinic staff to ensure HIV treatment and prevention services are prevented according to the standard of care. S/he ultimately follows the study protocol to ensure the best quality data are collected and all research ethics are upheld.

Main duties
• Completes and maintains research ethics certification.
• Identifies eligible clients at the health facility.
• Discusses the study with potential participants and if they are interested, conduct informed consent procedures according to CIDRZ best practices.
• Keeps detailed records on recruitment and enrollment and present these data at meetings.
• Administers enrollment and follow-up study assessments on both paper and computer.
• Develops and implements effective strategies to maintain retention of clients in the program.
• Performs rapid tests on finger prick blood samples and urine.
• Facilitates collection and transportation of blood samples to central lab.
• Traces laboratory results and maintains these for research and clinical care per protocol.
• Maintains chain of custody to track samples.

Qualifications
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Certificate in Social Sciences
• At least 1 year experience attached to a longitudinal research project similar to ZAMBAMA (one where participants have multiple visits over a period of time).
• Strong knowledge of HIV care procedures at MoH clinics.
• Ability to read and understand English, Bemba, and Nyanja
• Ability to speak English and at least one Zambian language
• Experience with rapid finger prick blood tests.
• Experience working on a substance use or mental health project
• Familiarity with the local community context where the study will occur.
