JOB DETAILS:
Mongu trades training institute is a public TEVET provider under the Ministry of Technology and Science The Institute is inviting suitable qualified personnel to fill the following positions:
Job title: Assistant Accountant
Reporting to: Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for invoicing and receipting
• Preparing payment vouchers and cheques
• Petty cash management and disbursement
• Maintaining and reconciling receivables and payables
• Responsible for debt collection
• Responsible for entering financial transactions in the pastel accounting systems
• Responsible for submitting statutory payments
• Administration of the payroll function in liaison with the Accountant
• Prepare the monthly and quarterly financial reports and reconciliations
• Prepare the banking reports and reconciliations
• Any other related duty assigned by the superior or Institute from time to time.

Requirements:
• Five (5) ‘O’ Levels
• Diploma in Accounting/ Finance or equivalent .
• Must be a member of ZICA
• Minimum Two (2) Years in Accounting and Administration
• Previous work in the education sector would be preferable
• Experience with Pastel accounting packages
• Sound auditing practices and principles and
• Knowledge of financial regulations
• Previous work in the education sector would be preferable
• Proficient in Microsoft packages
• Ability to design, develop, maintain excel spreadsheets
• Good analytical skills in dealing with accounting
• Willingness to meet deadlines and efficient use of working time
• Ability to perform the basic functions with minimum supervision

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 24 12:00:00 AM Associate Degree
