JOB DETAILS:
*Position Overview:*
The Deputy Principal (Operations) at our higher learning institution is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the operational aspects of the institution. This position involves strategic planning, resource management, and collaboration with various departments to ensure the effective functioning of operational processes.

*Key Responsibilities:*
*1. Operational Leadership:*
– Provide strategic leadership for operational functions, including facilities, maintenance, and support services.
– Collaborate with the academic leadership team to align operational support with academic goals.
– Ensure the smooth coordination of day-to-day operations.
*2. Facilities and Infrastructure Management:*
– Oversee the maintenance and development of campus facilities and infrastructure.
– Coordinate with the maintenance and facilities teams to address repair and renovation needs.
– Contribute to the planning and execution of construction projects.
*3. Resource Allocation and Budgeting:*
– Work with the finance department to manage budgetary aspects of operational functions.
– Ensure efficient resource allocation for facilities, equipment, and support services.
– Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize operational budgets.
*4. Health and Safety Compliance:*
– Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the institution.
– Develop and implement safety protocols and emergency response plans.
– Collaborate with relevant departments to conduct regular safety drills.
*5. Vendor and Supplier Management:*
– Oversee relationships with external vendors and suppliers.
– Negotiate contracts and agreements for goods and services.
– Monitor vendor performance and ensure adherence to service-level agreements.
*6. Campus Security:*
– Collaborate with campus security to ensure a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and staff.
– Develop and implement security protocols and measures.
– Address security concerns and incidents in coordination with relevant authorities.
*7. Sustainability Initiatives:*
– Implement and support sustainability initiatives related to campus operations.
– Identify opportunities for energy efficiency, waste reduction, and environmentally friendly practices.
– Collaborate with relevant departments to promote a culture of sustainability.
*8. Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement:*
– Identify areas for operational efficiency and process improvement.
– Implement streamlined processes for better resource utilization.
– Collaborate with departments to assess and enhance operational workflows.
*9. Technology Integration:*
– Work with IT and technology departments to integrate technological solutions into operational processes.
– Support the implementation of systems for facilities management and operational efficiency.
– Stay informed about emerging technologies relevant to campus operations.
*10. Stakeholder Engagement:*
– Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and local communities.
– Address operational concerns raised by stakeholders and implement solutions.
– Foster positive relationships to enhance the overall operational environment.

*Qualifications:*
– Master’s or advanced degree in Operations Management, Facilities Management, or a related field.
– Extensive experience in operational leadership roles, preferably in higher education.
– Knowledge of facilities management, budgeting, and health and safety regulations.
– Strong strategic planning, communication, and leadership skills.
– Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
