JOB DETAILS:
Overall Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Electrical Superintendent, you will be responsible for assisting in establishment of preventative and responsive Electrical, Instrumentation and Mechanical maintenance and breakdowns and the development within the process area and across the site during night shift, to ensure maximum operational performance is achieved in a safe and cost effective manner while ensuring compliance with relevant procedures, polices, legal requirements and consent conditions. Your duties will include but are not limited to the following: .

Specific Job Responsibility:
Instrumentation
• Assist with repair and maintain Instrumentation Installation of new Instrumentation systems, replacement of old, faulty or redundant systems as per the Company and vendor’s safety and quality specifications.
Electrical
• Assist with repair and maintain Electrical Installation of new electrical systems, replacement of old, faulty or redundant systems as per the Company and vendor’s safety and quality specifications.
Mechanical
• Assist with the repair and maintenance of Mechanical equipment effectively with the minimum effect on the plant production.
Reporting and record keeping
• Report all incidents immediately to the Superintendent.
Stock Control
• Ensure that stock levels of electrical equipment are maintained in the warehouse and report all defective or substandard equipment to your direct Superintendent.
Tools and audit
• Maintain the correct and safe usage of all hand tools within your section
• Training and development
• Identify needs for specialized training requirements within your area.


Job Specific Competencies:
• Troubleshooting
• Experience in the operation and maintenance of all process plant equipment might it be instrumentation, electrical or mechanical
• Demonstrated application of continuous improvement ideas
• Ability to quickly adapt to technological changes in the process plant maintenance
• Demonstrated ability to work safely and improve team safety awareness
• Able to diagnose problems and potential problems
• Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)


Experience required to perform in this job:
• Minimum twenty years’ experience in Automated Industrial Processing Plants
• Knowledge of LV systems, MCC’s and protection
• Knowledge of Instrumentation equipment
• Knowledge of Mechanical engineering, such as crushers, mills, pumps, conveyors
• Maintenance of Overhead cranes, powerplants
• Knowledge of variable speed drives, Soft starters and DOL starters
• Good knowledge on the use of electrical measuring instruments

Qualifications:
• Minimum of a Grade 12 Certificate
• Millwright National Diploma Certificate
• Provincial Driving Permit for LV
