JOB DETAILS:
Zambia Sugar Plc, is a subsidiary of Illovo Sugar Africa (Pty) Ltd Group and is the leading sugar producer in Zambia. Its main activities are the growing of sugar cane, the production and marketing of sugar and other sugar downstream products.
The Company invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following position
Financial Analyst (1 Position, Middle Management) – Finance Department
The position reports to the Record to Report Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate, reliable and complete financial information analysing historical results for forecasts and projections and making recommendations for decision making by the Zambia Sugar Group

Responsibilities
• Close the month end General Ledger
• Provide accurate and reliable historic financial information to all stakeholders timeously
• Prepare and process journal entries
• Prepare and consolidate balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare and perform balance sheet variance analysis for month and actuals
• Generate the final trial balance
• Upload the approved trial balance to Cognos Database Management
• Prepare monthly management reports
• Ensure full compliance with the Companies Act and relevant IFRS’S.
• Manage the internal and external audit processes
• Prepare year-end reporting pack-annual financial statement and year-end tax pack
• Attend and perform stock counts, stock reconciliations and stock valuations
• Manage the Zambia Sugar Group’s fixed assets (additions, disposals, depreciation and asset verification)
• Develop and maintain favourable stakeholder relationships, internally within business and externally with auditors
• Formulate and manage Service Level Agreements with various stakeholders
• Promote and assist maintain the integrity of the Group’s internal control environment, Promote and adhere to Group procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Ant-Bribery and Corruption (ABC),

Minimum Specifications / Requirements Areas
• Grade 12 Certificate (or Equivalent)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and part qualified CIMA/ACCA/CA
• Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience
• ZICA Member
• Strong business analytic skills to generate insight and add measurable value
• Exceptional accounting and reporting skills
• Attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
