JOB DETAILS:
Purpose of the Position
To proactively identify people requirements in line with business needs; to design and implement a robust HC people strategy that meets the business and people needs for a productive and high performing, engaged workforce. To facilitate change and drive company culture, ensuring that employees are aligned to country goals and objectives. To collaborate with the Country MD, business unit executives and Head of HC to provide inputs, monitor effectiveness and help implement HC policies and programmes.
Key Performance Objectives
Strategic Consulting
• Work with the Country MD, business unit heads and Regional Head of HC to design and implement HC policies and programs relevant to country needs
• Work with country MD to drive and implement business transformation by ensuring organizational design is according to best practice, people are placed in the right roles, training provided where required and that change is managed properly through all levels in the organization.
• Build an integrated HC function to deliver quality HC services to country leaders and employees
• Implement appropriate HC policies, process and programmes that are aligned to MCZ business requirements
• Manage internal policies and legislation to ensure comply with government regulations and country specific law
• Co-create and drive HC processes supported by the Head of HC (MAL) and Centers of Excellence (e.g., performance management, annual compensation, training initiatives, etc.)
Stakeholder Management
• Build and Maintain key stakeholder relationships with HC Leadership, Business Leadership, wider HC community, Employees, Union, Ministry of Labour & Social Security and Zambia Federation of Employers
• Serve as employee advocate when involved in the design and/or implementation of HC programs
• Champion and enable effective cross-functional working relationships to create and drive an integrated HC employee experience.
• Coach and advise line managers on organizational effectiveness and general HC issues
• Build and maintain healthy employment relations with all key stakeholders
Performance/Talent Management
• Drive a culture of high performance by ensuring the following:
• cascading of country goals into employee scorecards and embed a systematic process on continuous conversation, leveraging group frameworks to generate best fit for country performance solutions
• Implement SMART goal setting
• Implement and embed a Pay to Performance process aligned to VE group framework
• Resolve HC operations issues/problems for business unit and liaise with HC Communities for information as necessary
• Identify opportunities to support the business’ talent agenda and make recommendations to develop appropriate solutions
• Manage country-specific HC and talent projects; keep leaders apprised of progress, risks, etc.
People Management
• Guide, engage, lead and Inspire and develop HC team
• Manage the HC Operations function to ensure effective delivery of business unit objectives.
• Perform all management responsibilities for direct HC team

Qualifications
Degree in Human Resources Management/Psychology or similar qualification
Experience
• A minimum of 8-10 years HC experience as a generalist
• English speaking advantageous
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong coaching, conflict resolution, relationship and team building skills
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles
• An ability to demonstrate high personal impact and influence to build a strong, trusted advisor relationship with business leaders
• Strong knowledge of country specific regulations, policies and labour legislation
