About the Job
Our Client, located in Chirundu along the Zambezi River is looking for a qualified and capable manager to manage the business operations and of the lodge in order to meet the specified standards, objectives and policies of the lodge.

The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible for the Following;
• Create and install a strong marketing profile including active approaches to the tourism industry in order to boost visitor numbers.
• Manage the lodge on a day to day basis and ensure that tasks are implemented on time and according to the budget and required scope and quality.
• Provide a welcoming lodge environment for customers with high standards of service, meals and housekeeping which meet the company’s expectations.
• Manage all the assets to their full potential in order to ensure a return.
• Maintain the smooth operation of the Lodge, its facilities, infrastructure, services and functions
• Recruit and oversee staff
• Develop a long and short term operational plan, to ensure the lodge’s sustainability as a tourism destination.
• Provide status updates to the management team of the lodge including immediate escalation of key issues where necessary.

Skills Required
• Customer Service Skills: An enjoyment of dealing with customers, being friendly, helpful and providing an excellent level of service to customers
• People Management: Can motivate, train, direct and work alongside staff to achieve required goals
• Communication Skills: Can assess if a staff member or customer does not understand an instruction, policy or requirement and can explain this to them in different ways to make sure they understand.
• Team Player: Will help out and do other duties if required, not afraid to get their hands dirty and will go the extra mile.
• Decision-making skills: Must be able to think on your feet and adapt to changing conditions. Make decisions that best suit the situation
• Technical Skills: Must be able to pick up practical skills easily and become proficient in using them.
• Problem Solving: Can assess operational issues and take the best course of action to get them resolved

Qualifications & Experience
• Must be a Zambian Resident
• Must be a holder of A Hotel Managers License issued in Zambia
• Must be mature and have no less than 5 years of work experience
• Must have staff management experience
• Experience working in remote areas or locations would be an advantage
• Excellent Computer Skills
