JOB DETAILS:
After successfully conducting a land titling pilot project in Lusaka Zambia, MLG has been engaged by Lusaka City Council to lead its land titling operations.
The Field Director, Zambia will support MLG’s efforts in Zambia, expanding upon MLG’s earlier titling project. Applicants for this role will have substantial land surveying and data collection experience, including in enumeration, GIS, team management, data validation, and employing enterprise software technologies. The Field Director will provide day-to-day supervision of a large team responsible for conducting field surveys and layout work on engineering, mapping analyzing resultant field data to meet project criteria and objectives. .

What You Will Do:
• Hold complete accountability for effective, accurate data collection and validation
• Directly manage Field Manager to ensure that daily, weekly and quarterly enumeration goals are met
• Develop Field Supervisor and Enumerator work plans and ensure that data, technology, and logistics are set up for successful data collection
• Directly manage Data Validation Lead to ensure that data collected is accurate and includes disputes, encumbrances and ownership details
• Measure daily performance and implement trainings and programmatic changes to increase efficacy and efficiency of data collection and valuation activities
• Set, provide and meet schedule for performance metrics
• Coordinate across teams to ensure effective flow of information and smooth operation of data collection and validation activities
• Consistently communicate updates in an organized manner to HQ

What You Should Have:
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Geospatial Informatics or a related field
• 5+ years of experience with land surveying and data collection
• 3-5 years of management experience over sizable teams
• Proven ability to operate at a director level
• Strong general management experience
• Experience working for an international company
• Valid driver’s license in Zambia required
• Legal authorization to work in Zambia required
