JOB DETAILS:

  Yalelo is seeking a Lead Instrumentation and Control Technician to perform the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on all HVACR units of the organisation
This position is open to Zambians only.
The role will be primarily based at the Yalelo Production Site in Siavonga and reports directly to the Engineering Manager – Production. Please note that this role may require occasional travel to Lusak.

Job Responsibilities:
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of the condition of all plant electrical/Refrigeration equipment on a continuous basis.
• Ensure the planned inspections are executed on all plant electrical/Refrigeration equipment and initiate work orders based on inspection/PM results.
• Update major Electrical/Refrigeration Maintenance and Inspection schedules
• Monitor and co-ordinate condition predictors, for all critical equipment.
• Provide feedback and update equipment specification files as well as history files
• Evaluate and improve the preventive maintenance electrical/Refrigeration job plans
• Ensure systematic implementation and optimization of motor lubrication program.
• Perform First level and Specific inspection of all plant electrical and refrigeration equipment in all conditions
• Carry out maintenance repairs and troubleshooting on all electrical/Refrigeration units at depots, Carriers on Trucks or Trailers, shop outlets Fridges and out of town Reefers
• Coordinate with production operators to get feedback on freezing equipment conditions, production constraints and equipment availability for maintenance inspection
• Coordinate with Engineering Manager and Supervisor on all maintenance interventions required.

  Job Skills:
• Knowledge of work and safety rules & regulations
• Local Statutory Safety and Environment regulations and procedures
• Able to charge Refrigerant, detect leakage, braze copper to copper, flare copper pipe tubing, install and commission a new installation refrigeration unit
• Problem solving methods and tools (Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Risk Analysis (FMEA)).
• Strong computer knowledge, Fiix or CMMS, Microsoft Project, Excel & PowerPoint

Job Education Requirements:
• At least a post-secondary level education in a technical School or equivalent, but preferably a 3-year Electrical/Refrigeration Technical diploma or advanced craft Certificate in Refrigeration or Electrical Vocational training.

Job Experience Requirements:
• 5 years’ experience of Refrigeration maintenance in an industrial environment.
