We are looking for a result driven Automotive Mechanic to undertake the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
• Conducting general maintenance and service of trucks
• Engine overhauls including overhead adjustments, engine brake installations and adjustments and fitting engine accessories and repairs
• Carry out certification of fitness inspections and repairs
• Attending to vehicle breakdown
• Clutch installation and removal including gearbox and differential unit
• Attending to pneumatics and hydraulic problems;
• Carry out brake overhaul
• Gearbox and differential trouble shooting and minor repairs
• Rear and front suspension repairs
• Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
• Perform other tasks as may be required by the Workshop Supervisor or Manager

Basic Requirements
• Certificate in Automotive and Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician/Mechanics or any related field
• Trade test and craft certificate in Automotive Electrical will be an added advantage
• At least two years’ work experience in a similar role.
• Must possess a comprehensive mechanical know how and understanding of heavy-duty trucks with particular experience working with Mercedez Benz Trucks
• Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

JOB DETAILS:
General Summary
To plan and manage the operations for a group of Fuel outlets. Responsible for the service standards, safety and site profitability of the Fuel stations. Manage and coordinate uniform policies in reporting and day-to-day operations across all jurisdictions.

Major Responsibilities
• Train site staff on Operation standards and ensure all sites adhere to the same on a consistent basis.
• Asset register for station to be maintained and accounted for on timely basis (cc with finance department). All forecourt items to be accounted for at any given time.
• Ensure forecourts and other customer facing areas are kept in good and clean condition
• Work with the site managers to acquire new customers and handle customer complaints. Plan regular customer visit and interact with fleet customer to strengthen business relationship.
• Carry out periodic audits and surprise visits to assess the operating standards. Draw out and follow up on an action plan to fill in the gaps.
• Draw out the Business Plan for each site and work with the team to break the targets at Shift/Individual levels.
• Ensure daily checklist is done and ensure all concerns/points raised from the last visit are attended to in the next visit. Ensure this is done on timely basis, and day-to-day operations run smoothly.
• Coach the site manager on effective management of the stations. Implement consequence management in event of non-performance
• Staff to comply to a strict dress code policy at all times when on duty.
• Conduct staff meetings on a monthly time with stations – agenda driven on grievances, ideas to improve the sales, what are the customers saying/requesting, how can we improve our offerings to the best.
• Look to improve customer services from back office (Timely Statement/ invoicing/ action on queries, etc) and at forecourt (Window Cleaning, Cross selling services etc.)
• Ensure all operational reports to be agreed and sent on a timely basis to the management.
• Forecourt automation – all hardware and site layouts to be uniform across all stations. Uniform input and uniform output.
• Understand reports for stations and take corrective and strategic decision making for the stations with the team
• Create reports frequently to better understand performance of each station, set goals for each station and the team (start with basic reports on fuel variance and sales and lubricant sales)
• Ensure the best customer experience is given to the customers at all times. Constant training and assessment on customer service is paramount

Special Skill/Competencies
• Minimum 4 years of post-qualification
• Executing and achieving budgets and monitoring progress
• Management of teams and external parties
• Strong systems knowledge and plugging loopholes in the business,
• Works on Business Development for the organisation
• Good understanding of Retail Fundamentals. Not necessary from the same industry.
• Strong understanding of implementing ERP softwares to help streamline and tighten controls
• Proficiency in the operational regulatory and compliance requirements of the industry.

Education and Experience
• The Job holder must have an accredited degree or be a Graduate with at least 9 years post qualification operational experience.

JOB DETAILS:
Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly committed employee for the position of Hydrology Technician to join the versatile Mineral Resource Management team.
Reporting to the Hydrogeology Coordinator, you will be is responsible for management of dewatering boreholes, piezometers, and other hydrological infrastructure on the Mine. He / she is also responsible for collection of Hydrological monitoring data. Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• Carry out all work in compliance to relevant procedures and Zambian regulatory requirements,
• Supervise the drilling of dewatering boreholes and installation of dewatering pumps in the boreholes
• Ensure all boreholes are inspected and operational on the daily basis.
• Replacing faulty or operational boreholes.
• Collection and communication of pumping rates and pumping volumes from the boreholes.
• Supervise the drilling and installation of piezometers for pore pressure monitoring.
• Data collections from vibrating wire piezometers and standpipe piezometers
• Supervise hydrological drilling, and installation of monitoring equipment with an emphasis on a high level of safety and quality.
• Collection of ground water monitoring data from piezometers
• Assist the hydrology coordinator with dam audits and pit inspection
• Maintenance of pore pressure monitoring instrumentation
• Continually improve their hydrological skills by way of working through the Hydrological technician skills matrix and seeking guidance and mentorship from the Hydrogeology Coordinator

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
• Full Grade Twelve School Certificate
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in the open pit working with dewatering boreholes.
• Experience in geotechnical lab works will be added advantage
• Holder of a valid Zambian Drivers Licence
• Be physically fit and be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination.
• Proven ability to deliver results and act as a change agent.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team safely and improve team safety awareness.
• High level understanding of all relevant legislation affecting the employment and safety of persons in the mining industry in Zambia.
• Demonstrated application of continuous improvement ideas
