JOB DETAILS:
Development Bank of Zambia (DBZ) is a Development Finance Institution (DFI), controlled by the Government of the Republic of Zambia. DBZ is mandated to promote economic growth through investments in the form of short, medium and long-term loans and provide technical services with the overarching purpose of promoting economic development in Zambia.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director will be on a fixed term three year performance based contract. S(he) will be responsible for providing strategic direction, ensuring growth of the Bank and executing the mandate in accordance with the Development Bank of Zambia Act, Chapter 363 of the Laws of Zambia. Specifically, the Managing Director will be responsible for day to day operations of the Bank in accordance with the laid down policies and must be conversant with the statutory mandate of the Bank, inherent risks exposed to DBZ and ensuring effective internal controls.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Leading the development and execution of short and long-term business strategies to ensure long term viability, sustainability and growth in shareholder value;
• Overseeing the financial performance of the Bank ensuring sustainability and shareholder value through prudent investment practices and management of capital earnings:
• Repositioning of the brand and developing an internal culture that is focussed on the customer as a sustainable source of competitive advantage. Driving modernisation and the roll out of innovations that add value for the customer,
• Positioning the Bank to monitor changes in the business and regulatory environments
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with key stakeholders such as the Minister of Finance, Funders, national and international DFIs and other strategic partners; and
• Ensuring the establishment of a strong and independent risk, compliance and governance framework across the Bank.

Key Requirements
• A Post Graduate Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or any relevant field;
• Member of relevant professional body,
• A minimum of 15 years relevant experience in a medium / large enterprise, in either banking or large development institutions that manage finance and/or State-Owned Enterprises
• In-depth understanding of banking and related risks and strategies to mitigate and manage risks in the banking environment;
• Understanding of the development needs of Zambia and ability to mobilise the private sector
• Ability to transform the organisational culture to high performance and experience in leading an executive committee
• Proven track record in transforming organisations and managing high value developmental funding projects
• Excellent business acumen; andGo to

Banking and Treasury Executive

We are looking for a Banking and Treasury Executive – a new role within our expanding team to help us with our Treasury administration.
Salary: Local terms and conditions apply
Location: Sightsavers Country Offices – Senegal, Ghana, Nigeria (Abuja), Cameroon, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda or Zambia.
Contract: One Year Fixed Term Contract with the expectation of extension

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Banking and Treasury Executive to provide support to the treasury management function. This will involve global bank account management, global bank portal management and bank mandate management. The post holder will also be responsible for the management of monthly changes to the Sightsavers investment portfolio to ensure that management, accounting, and reporting requirements are met.

Key duties will include:
• Global bank account management to include opening, closing, and amending accounts
• Ensure optimal interfaces are achieved between the treasury management function and the operations team, in terms of processes, procedures, information sharing, common systems use and general collaboration and communications.
• Global bank portal management
• Bank mandate management using the Kyriba TMS Bank Management Module
• Updating and recording all electronic portal bank accounts, users, roles, and responsibilities
• Regular reviews of all bank account management information
• Assisting the Acting Treasury Manager in maintaining Banking partner relationships and reviewing for best practices and improvements
• Responsible for the management of monthly changes to the Sightsavers investment portfolio to ensure accurate and timely recording of purchases, disposals, realised and unrealised gain and losses to produce SUN accounting journals
• Analysing the investment portfolio and producing treasury management reports for monthly Management Account Reporting and Investment Committee meetings.
• Assisting the Acting Treasury Manager in Treasury analysis
• Filing and audit preparation in respect of all the above.
