The position of Senior Support Engineer is a role within the NetOne Group assuming responsibilities in NetOne Information Technology Ltd. The position requires an individual who is a good communicator and is a team-player able to build on team skill-set.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Site surveying, planning, installation, and commissioning of LAN, MAN, and WAN network projects.
• Configure/Troubleshoot network devices such as firewalls, routers, switches, etc.
• Configure/Troubleshoot Routing protocols – EIGRP, OSPF, BGP
• Configure/Troubleshoot Application protocols – HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, SSL etc.
 

• Configure/Troubleshoot Network Monitoring software.
• Configure/Troubleshoot WiFi Access Points.
• Extensive Knowledge of IP addressing and TCP/IP networking.
• Monitor network performance and integrity.
• Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g. Solar Winds, PRTG, and other network tools)
• Able to do network crimping and fiber splicing.
• Software and Hardware installation and troubleshooting.
• Support Data Center Architecture – Network, Server, Storage
• Experience in Virtualization is an added value.
• Configure and deploy virtual machines on the VMware or Hyper-V platform for both internal and external customers.
• Excellent technical knowledge of Windows administrative server roles and services.
 

• Support and troubleshoot applications hosted on Windows Server and Desktop operating systems.
• CCTV Installation and configurations.
• Installation and configuration of Access control.
• Perform vendor management activities such as coordination with ISP, Telecoms, and other third party providers
• Perform quality work on all service requests/incidents.
• Able to operate with minimal supervision
• Able to operate within customer standard operating procedures
• Open for 24×7 availability
• Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devices
• Resolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructure
• Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
• Mentor team members on technical issues
• Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)
• Maintain complete technical documentation
• Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Industry-related experience as a Senior Network/Support Engineer, Network Administrator
• Must Have Professional certification (e.g. CCNP, CCDP)
• Solid background in network administration and architecture
• In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF)
• Familiarity with access control models and network security
• Knowledge of coding languages for scripting (e.g Python, Perl)
• Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (e.g. Solar Winds network tools)
• Solid understanding of network operating systems (JUNOS, Cisco IOS)
• Sharp troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently
• Organizational and mentoring skills

• Support and handle all escalations from NOC department with regards to all services offered by NData
• Support NetOne IT customers’ infrastructure as per scope of contract.
• Ensure that ALL support and maintenance calls for the systems are logged and processed
 

• Responsible for ensuring that safety measures are taken and available equipment is used in all situations where required.
• Carry out preventative maintenance of NData’s core Infrastructure as instructed by the Head – Technical Services
• Configure and deploy VMs on the vMware platform for both internal and external customers
• Configure and troubleshoot customer storage applications such as OSSV and Syncrify.
• Monitor and configure exchange server volumes if required.
 

• Support Data Center Architecture – Network, Server, Storage
• Carry out LAN and server implementation projects.
• Carry out project scoping and roll outs.
• Operate within customer standard operating procedures.
• Perform vendor management activities such coordination with ISP, Telecoms and other third party providers

• Ensure daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews are carried out with regards to PCI

• Excellent Technical Knowledge in Configuring/Troubleshooting of network devices such as Switches, Routers, firewall etc.

Job title: Plant Operators’ Salary Grade Cms-7
Job purpose

To operate and monitor the operations and performance of all equipment, gauges and charts in the pump stations and water treatment plants in order to ensure adequate and quality water and service delivery.

Main duties
• Responsible for proper operation of the Water Treatment Plant or Intake Plant
• To maintain a consistent supply of high-quality water to the water distribution system
 

• Inspects and ensures the proper operation of Treatment Plant equipment (Pumps, Valves, Sensors, Control Panels, Chemical Dosing System and related equipment).
• Makes decisions on chemical feed rates and plant process operations to treat a varying water quality and flow rate as required by the water system demand.
• Operates and maintains pumping stations and other related facilities.
Performs standardized laboratory tests for treatment plant process control (alkalinity, turbidity, chlorine residual, PH, etc.).
• Cleans, lubricates, adjusts, operates, and assists in repairing water pumps, motors, chemical feed, and related equipment.
 

• Reads and records measurements of meters, gauges, and recording charts.
Registers daily water quantities pumped.
• Collects a variety of water samples for laboratory analysis, process control, and regulatory compliance.
• Operates and monitors clear well for total production, chlorine residual, and draw down measurements.
• Initiates and oversees filter backwashes.
• Handles and transports chemicals in a safe and proper manner.
• Responsible for the performance of work in a safe and proper manner of an assigned shift; may train new employees in proper and safe work methods and WTP operations.
• Performs a variety of general maintenance duties (e.g. painting, cleaning, and grounds keeping) at the Water Treatment Plant and related facilities.
• Conducts public tours of the WTP for public relations and educational purposes.
• Performs complex mathematical calculations to determine plant process requirements and efficiencies.
• Performs related duties similar to the above in scope and function as required.

Qualifications And Experience
• Grade 12(Form v) School Certificate.
• Craft certificate in Water Supply and Operations.
Diploma in Water Supply and Operations will be added advantage
• Member of EIZ
• Work experience of a minimum of 2 Years.
• Able to work with minimum supervision.
• Self-disciplined
• Ability to work in solitary conditions for long hours

• Assist Workshop Supervisor in generating daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual workshop repairs and maintenance reports.
• Assist Workshop Supervisor to conduct quarterly/annual Performance Appraisal
Workshop Personnel,
• Provide advice and technical assistance to team members.
• Act as liaison between Top management and workshop staff on all departmental and cooperate developments.
 

• Evaluate the impact of work delays Interruptions or changes in plans to develop appropriate course of actions,
• Monitor workflow to anticipate impact of delays due to team members being absent for leaves, holidays or sickness.
• Work hand In hand with Workshop Supervisor in reviewing service orders and inspect the quality of technicians’ repairs before the release of vehicle for operations.
• Carry out physical inspections on all trucks admitted into the workshop before and after completion of repairs.
• Assist Workshop Supervisor to plan and adjust the workloads of department personnel to match their skills and abilities.
• Ensure strict adherence to all safe work procedures, and (HSE) adherence.
• Carry out parts and spares inventory management.
• Close off job cards and sign off log books accordingly after completion of repairs.

Requirements
Diploma or its equivalent in Automotive/Heavy Duty Engineering or related discipline from government recognized institution.
Minimum of Five(5) years relevant work experience
