Mid-Wife
Reporting to: Medical Superintendent
Lumwana Mining Company Limited (LMC), a copper mining company owned by Barrick Gold Corporation is situated in the Northwestern region of Zambia, some 300 km west of the Zambian Copperbelt and 95 km southwest of the provincial capital of Solwezi. The mine is a multi-pit, multi staged operation mining approximately 100MT of ore and waste per annum and producing copper concentrates containing an average of 120,000 tonnes of copper metal per year over a twenty (20) year mine life, making Lumwana the largest single open cut copper mine in Africa. The Company is now looking for an experienced and qualified individual to be considered for the position of Mid-wife.

Role Summary
Reporting to the Medical Superintendent, your duties will include but not limited to the following;
Responsibilities
• Co-ordinate and conduct, Antenatal Services, Post-natal services, Family Planning Services, New-born and Child health services.
• Supervise and conduct simple deliveries; Provides nursing care for pre-mature babies.
• Ensure sufficient medical and surgical supplies in the delivery rooms.
• Maintain accurate records of all services rendered in the maternal, new-born and child-health
• Maintains records and statistics required by statutory and domestic regulations
• Be able to maintain high levels of cleanliness/sterility in Labour ward and hence reduce chances of cross-infection.
• Be actively involved in the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV

Experience & Qualifications
• Grade twelve (12) school certificate
• Diploma in Registered Nursing
• Advanced Diploma in Midwifery
• 5 years work experience as a registered nurse.
• Able to work with minimum supervision
• Good management and communication skills
• Team player
• Good observation and analytical skills

• Ensure availability of medical and surgical supplies in the treatment rooms
• Maintain accurate records of all services rendered during your shift
• Be able to maintain high levels of cleanliness to reduce chances of cross-infection.
• Be actively involved in the prevention of infectious diseases including COVID-19, TB, HIV and STIs and Hepatitis B.

Experience & Qualifications
• Grade twelve (12) school certificate
• Diploma in Registered Nursing, Diploma in Clinical Medicine, Diploma in Pharmacy, Diploma in Public Health.
• Able to work with minimum supervision
• Good management and communication skills

Mabiza Resources Limited (“Mabiza”) operates the Munali Nickel Mine (“Munali”), which is located in the Mazabuka District, 75kms south of Lusaka, Zambia. Mabiza is a wholly owned entity of Consolidated Nickel Mines Ltd.
The Mine is a modern, world-class facility with fully mechanized underground operations. To support this vision. Mabiza is seeking the services of an experienced and qualified individual to take up the position of:
Role: Laboratory Analyst X 1
Reporting: Laboratory Chemist
Job Purpose: To analyse samples submitted to the laboratory safely, and with the highest degree of accuracy.

Responsibilities:
• Carry out safety inspections to ensure that all equipment is safe to use, and that subordinate staff work safely.
• Identify and report any unsafe practices and equipment to the Lab Manager immediately.
• Ensure cleanliness of the laboratory and the application of good housekeeping practices.
• Report any insufficient chemicals and stock needed for the laboratory in good time.
• Perform tasks from time as required by the Laboratory Manager.
• Provide guidance to all subordinate staff on laboratory safety and quality.
• Perform tasks from time as required by the Lab Manager.
• Help with the maintenance of the Quality System.
• Ensure compliance with procedures, instructions, and methods of analysis.
• Ensure that the maintenance, calibration and verification of all apparatus, equipment and instruments are updated.
• Help to co-ordinate results of the proficiency testing schemes.
• Complete all quality related documentation as required per shift.
• Ensure the accuracy of all results and certificates generated.
• Ensure all paperwork in your area of responsibility is completed correctly.
• Report any non-conformances to the Lab Manager.
• Aid the Lab Chemist in his duties related to the laboratory, as required.
• Help control the operations of the laboratory and its staff compliment.
• Help run the day-to-day activities of the laboratory.

Skills & Qualifications:
• Grade 12 Certificate
• Diploma in Science Lab Technician
• Tertiary education in Analytical Chemistry is preferred.
• 3 years minimum testing laboratory experience

Job Summary/Responsibilities:
Senior Technical Officer, HIV Prevention will work directly under the Care and Treatment Lead to enhance systems for client retention for the PEPFAR/Centre for Disease Control (CDC) funded, FHI 360-led Technical Assistance (TA) Project to the Eastern Province Health Office (EPHO). S/he will assist in providing technical support in all HIV Prevention services including VMMC, PNS/Index testing, PrEP, CaCx, eMTCT and GBV/IPV. S/he will support EPHO to expand anti-retroviral therapy (ART) access and retention services in the province. S/he will use statistical analysis systems, such as other data analytics as appropriate to support the facility-based Client Experience Associate (CEA) to ensure respectful, responsible client experience. S/he will provide technical support and oversee the provision of treatment literacy, attendance to clients’ inquiries/queries/complaints and facilitation of feedback from the healthcare team.

Duties and responsibilities:
Provides technical leadership for all HIV prevention interventions Supports design, monitoring and evaluation of activities regarding HIV prevention orientation, and mentorship of teams who lead these activities. Designs and oversees the implementation of integration of HIV and other services including TB, VMMC, PNS/Index testing, PrEP, CaCx, eMTCT and GBV/IPV. Supports strengthening of bidirectional referrals and linkages within facilities, and between facilities and community partners. Based on data, creates, or revises concepts based needed to facilitate strategic HIV prevention goals for client experience. Supports verification systems for maintaining, updating, and managing client referral records and feedback. Supports capacity building and contributes to the overall strategic goals of any assigned programs. Strengthen the implementation of recency testing and HIV case surveillance Oversee the supervision of Client Experience Associates based in Chipata. Perform any other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications and requirements:
Degree in Public health or its International Equivalent, Masters degree will be added advantage Knowledge/Information Services, Communications, Education, Environment, Health, Behavioral, Life/Social Sciences International Development, Human Development or Related Field. Nurse, Clinical Officer, Medical Doctor, or related qualification Advanced training in HIV Prevention (including CxCa, GBV, PrEP), Clinical Care/ART, and training in program management. Typically requires 8+ years of project management experience within a research environment. Articulate, professional, and able to communicate in a clear, positive manner with clients and staff. Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English, also local languages. Related prior work experience preferred. Experience must reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above.
