To install and maintain plant equipment including converters, chutes and pipes according to drawings. Carry out steel fabrication / repair works, ensure the proper care and maintenance of allocated cutting, welding and tools / equipment under the general guidance of the section’s supervisor/s.

Key Responsibilities
This position will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.
• Fabrication and repair of steel components including vessels, piping, & chutes.
• Use of hand and power tools including: grinders, drilling machines, files and spanners.
• Proficient in carrying out arc welding.
• Lay out plate, sheet steel, or other heavy metal and locate and mark bending and cutting lines, using protractors, compasses, and drawing instruments or templates.
• Straighten or reshape steel plates or structural steel parts, using hammers, jacks, or torches.
• Carry out visual and thickness tests on ducts and pipes to locate defects, such as leaks, thinning, or defective sections, so that they can be repaired.
• Proficient in the safe use of Oxy-Acetylene cutting torches.
• Fabricating Installation of cable racks/bends/supports.
• Experienced in handling heavy angle grinders.
• Demonstrate sound work ethics
• Checks all tools to make sure that they are in good working condition
• Can work independently but maintains the direction from the supervisor and section
• Preserves welding records in case welding temperature may change suddenly.
• Carry out routine housekeeping tasks to make sure that the work area is clean
• To undertake such other duties as may be determined by the Supervisor from time to time.

• Grade 12 School Certificate
• Craft Certificate in Metal Fabrication
• Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia
• A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience as a Boilermaker in a mining/plant environment
• Knowledge of workplace safety, including writing risk assessments and following allocated safe work procedures

• Conduct All Functional Test as indicated in the test case
• Must have expertise in radio access technologies such as GSM, UMTS/WCDMA and LTE.
• Must have good experience in testing GSM, UMTS/WCDMA and LTE signaling protocol of Mobile handsets.
• Possess Experience in Testing Wireless devices for field testing as per established in test plans: Voice Quality, Call Performance, Data Performance, Battery Performance, and Video Performance and many other.
• Troubleshoot device-related and tool issues on-site as required.
• Monitor the real-time performance of Device Testing, ensuring data collected is accurate and the test runs smoothly.
• Good Communication Skills – both Written and Oral.
• Review test results for accuracy and quality.
• Submit Bug report if it has been identified and communicate smoothly with Engineer responsible.
• Must be a Team Player and able to work with Minimum Supervision
• Ability to meet deadlines and ensuring all Test reports are Accurate and of good quality.
• Collect logs using diagnostic tools Provided by the Organization and submit to appropriate system and engineer when required.
• Must be able to follow complex test procedures in various formats.

Required Knowledge/Skills:
• Experience with wireless device field testing and troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of GSM, UMTS/WCDMA, CDMA, and LTE.
• Experience with different mobile operating systems such as Android and IOS
• Proficient in Mobile Device Software and Hardware.
• Computer Literate a must.
• Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office Packages.

Overall Job Purpose
The position exists to supervise and be in charge of blasting quality control and the blasting resources, materials and work processes employed at FQM Trident Ltd. The role also exists to provide technical reports and guidance to employees on Blasting- related matters in order to ensure that the blasting works are planned and completed on schedule in line with quality and safety standards.

Specific Job Responsibility
• Responsible for supervising day-to-day blasting work quality and providing guidance to Blasters on the bench.
• Responsible for QAQC on bench/charging /density of cups.
• Responsible for Drilling Sequence and Redrills Drilling and face mark-ups.
• liaise with Other stake holders for cable alignment, Drilling Sequence etc.
• Accountable for Sleeving /charging quality and held responsible for non-compliance.
• Responsible for on-bench barricading, clearness of Cones, Blast Boards and accountable for non-compliance issues.
• Responsible for compiling Data together (dip- sheets, marked plans) and hands over to the Shift Supervisor.
• Responsible to organize and supervise the activities and work of subordinates
• Accountable to explain daily quality concerns to the Blasters assign work to them and coordinate work to be performed.
• Responsible for daily plan marking and give feedback to the Shift Supervisor on the status of work in the pit as well as communicate any detail in the pit operations.
• Perform any other duty as may be assigned by supervisor.

Experience & Qualifications
• Minimum of 3 year of experience as Blaster in a Mining Environment
• Must have prior blasting experience
• Must have leadership experience Prior experience in an open pit setup is an added advantage
• Full Grade 12 Certificate
• Minimum Diploma in mining Engineering/equivalent Electronic initiating systems certificate.
• Blasting Licence
• Valid Zambian driver’s license
• Must be Computer Literate

Borehole Drilling - Southern, Eastern and Central Provinces

Context of Tender
Procurement of services for borehole Geophysical site survey, borehole drilling, water quality and pump testing for 12 borehole sites located in Southern, Eastern and Central Provinces.
SNV is implementing a project inspired by concepts and lessons from SILMS and E4A projects (an agricultural and a biogas project respectively). The project is called INCREASE (Increasing Climate Resilience in Energy and Agricultural Systems and Entrepreneurship). The INCREASE project is a 7 million Euros SIDA funded project promoting climate resilience in energy, agriculture, and food systems.

Expected Outputs
• Identification of sites with potential for successful borehole drilling in the proposed locations for the INCREASE demo field in Central, Southern, and Eastern Province.
• Geophysical report with approximate drilling depth and other appropriate technical information for the sites identified in (i).
• Drilling works carried out on the 12 sites identified in (i)
• Borehole report with results on water quality testing and pump testing result for the 12 sites identified in (i)
