Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit highly energetic, committed, and passionate Zambians for the positions of Production Coordinator to join the versatile Mining team.
Reporting to the Load and Haul Superintendent, you will be responsible for delivering the load and haul objectives of the mine plan and mine budget.

Your duties will include but not limited to the following:
• Develop continuous improvement strategies and communicate and apply accordingly
• Monitor dump maintenance and flow level control
• Monitor the material that is being mined.
• Ensure all controls are in place at the dig face i.e. pegs, mark up and TBM.
• Operate and allocate mining equipment to optimize production in accordance with the mine plan.
• Ensure breaks, hot seat change and refueling of all mobile equipment are well coordinated.
• Provide consistency between shift hand over through accurate pit set up / inform incoming shift.
• Ensure the dispatch system is utilized as an inherent part of the section and appropriate production improvements are managed continuously

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
• Must have Full Grade 12 certificate
• Degree in mining engineering
• Must have five year’s experience in the open pit mining industry

Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit highly energetic, committed, and passionate Zambians for the position of Safety Compliance Officer to join the versatile mining team.
Reporting to the Coordinator – Safety Compliance, you will be responsible to drive and uphold occupational health, safety, and environmental activities and ensure full compliance to the system and supporting mine operations to eliminate safety incidents by way of thorough safety investigations, inspections and tracking of close out actions.

Your duties will include but not limited to the following:
• Assist with the implementation of occupational health and safety management system to a standard that is compatible with Barrick and ISO45001: OHSMS,
• Assist with the implementation of environmental management system standard (ISO14001:2015),
• Administer and maintain safety related documentation and records,
• Facilitate and participate in incident investigations and risk assessments,
• Identification and implementation of continual improvement opportunities,
• Develop, implement, maintain safe work procedures, and promote high safety and health awareness
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the mining area including equipment and infrastructures.
• Promote the use of written documentations on JSA, SOPs in all aspect of mining operation.
• Monitor compliance levels of supervisor checklist, equipment prestart inspection checklist and provide information to management on non-compliances.
• Promoting the use of written documentations on safe work procedures job safety analysis and standard operating procedures. (JSA, SOP’ S) in all aspect of mining operation.
• Be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the crew.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
• Full Grade 12 Certificate
• Minimum Diploma in occupational health, safety, and environment,
• Additional qualifications in ISO45001:2018 OHSMS and ISO14001:2015 such as lead implementor, internal or lead auditor essential,
• A minimum of 2 years post qualification experience with at least 3 years in mining environment
• Demonstrated success as an effective leader,
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team safely and improve team safety awareness,
• Must be able to confidently communicate and deliver presentations to larger groups
