JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
The Assistant Electrical Engineer work with Engineering Head to suggest system updates and enhancements to meet client demands. Assist to prepare technical design documents based on specifications, review project specifications and identify technical constraints and requirements. Develop preventive maintenance programs for electrical systems.

Summary of Key Responsibilities;
• Ensure that system breakdown, failures and repairs are addressed promptly.
• Assist Electrical Engineer in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems.
• Conducting performance checks of all electrical fittings in the place of work and confirming the safety
• Planning new electrical installations and maintenance of existing ones
• Supervising workers while installation
• Reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer if discrepancies in safety measures or installation procedures are found and taking steps to solve the problem
• Make suggestions and recommend changes in the existing systems to improve efficiency
• Keep track of the finances involved while the project is underway
• Take necessary steps to improve the efficiency of the department
• Keeping abreast of happenings in the field of electrical engineering and implementing development wherever possible
• Take over the responsibilities of the manager when he is absent
• Work with the engineering team to plan, coordinate and execute electrical projects
• Identify system integration and design issues and provide appropriate resolutions.
• Monitor and report project status to management on regular basis.
• Schedule project review meetings to discuss any issues and recommendations.
• Design specifications, budgets, help manuals, online help modules, product test reports, etc.
• Take the lead in all repairs, maintenance and performance of specific equipment or a set of equipment.
• Work with the Procurement team in purchasing materials for the production process and perform other tasks to fulfil project requirements.

Qualification and Experience
• Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Must have a minimum of 5-7 years post-qualification experience in Electrical Engineering
• Must have worked for a Transportation & Logistics company mostly in Maintenance
• Should be conversant with Motor Rewinding
• Must be precise and meticulous in working
• Must be a member of the EIZ/ERB with a VALID practising license

JOB DETAILS:
The Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA) is a statutory body responsible for the regulation of provision of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) and Postal and Courier Services in Zambia. The Authority also coordinates and oversees activities relating to cyber security and the combating of cyber-crime.

Job Purpose
Responsible for the development and implementation of Spectrum Management, Radio Frequency Quality of Service and Technical Standards in order to ensure the safety, quality and interoperability of new and existing ICT services in line with the Authority's mandate.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversee the assignments of frequencies or allotments of spectrum and revocation of assignment and allotments and ensures efficient and effective administration and utilization of Spectrum,
• Oversee the management of spectrum in accordance with the Telecommunications Act and Regulations, National policies and International best practice;
• Provide direction in spectrum planning/licensing processes and ensures that set objectives are achieved in Line with established regulatory guidelines;
• Oversee the allocation of Radio frequencies and licensing of all radio stations in Zambia and ensures that the radio spectrum is free from interference
• Oversee the establishment and operationalization of mechanism for analysing the performance of Quality of Service/Experience;
• Provide leadership in Quality of Service/Quality of Experience standardization and participates effectively in appropriate standardization activities;
• Assists the Authority respond to queries regarding license network performance and Quality of Service/Quality of Experience; and
• Provide analysis of Type Approval Equipment and ensures approved equipment conforms to acceptable technical standards

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Grade twelve certificate or its equivalent;
• Bachelor's Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/ Telecommunications or related; and
• Master's Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering/Computer Science/Telecommunications or related. PROFESSIONAL AFFLIATION
• Should be a member of a relevant professional body.

TENURE
The position of Director Engineering and Technical Services is on a three-year fixed term contract.

EXPERIENCE
Seven (7) years working relevant experience especially in the ICT sector, regulatory body or dynamic commercial environment, four (4) of which must be at Management level.
