ZAMBIA CENTRE FOR ACCOUNTANCY STUDIES EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY, LECTURER – FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Zambia Centre for Accountancy Studies (ZCAS) was enacted through an Act of Parliament (ZCAS Act No. 1 of 1989) for the purpose of training accountants, promoting research and advancement of learning in accountancy, finance, and related studies, providing advisory and consultancy services, and for related matters.
ZCAS seeks to recruit a qualified and experienced person to fill the position of LECTURER – FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT.

JOB PURPOSE:
The position is responsible for preparing and delivering lectures and tutoring students studying professional programmes such as ACCA, CIMA and CA Zambia to enable them pass examinations and qualify as Chartered accountants. Additionally, the lecturer is responsible for undertaking research, consultancy and advocacy activities for the Centre.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(i) Facilitate learning in financial management at intermediate and final stages of professional accountancy courses to students using face to face and E-learning platform modes of delivery.
(ii) Provide academic support that enhances learning and personal development.
(iii) Ensure implementation of teaching and learning quality assurance systems aimed at customer satisfaction.
(iv) Conduct quality research and publish articles that feed into ZCAS’ internal learning processes and industry.
(v) Carry out consultancy and advisory services in business and related fields.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
(i) Grade 12 with a minimum of five (5) “O” levels including English and Mathematics.
(ii) Professional Accountancy qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or ZICA.
(ii) Master’s degree in finance, accounting, or business – related field from an accredited University.
(iii) PhD will be an added advantage.
(iv) Five (5) years post qualifying work experience in teaching at tertiary level, having taught financial management at intermediate and final stages of professional accountancy courses.
(v) Conversant with financial management accounting business systems.
(vi) Must be a fully paid-up Member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
(viii) Must be Computer literate.

Minimum Requirements
1. Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Education or any related discipline, but a Master’s Degree or PhD will be an added advantage.
2. A committed Catholic with proven leadership and management skills, knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic vision of education with counselling and teaching skills to facilitate the fullest development of pupils, students and
staff.
3. The applicant must be computer literate.

Experience:
• At least 10 years’ experience, five years of which should be in a position of either Principal or Vice Principal, or Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher of a Secondary School.
• The Applicant should have been Head of Department in a Secondary School and must be registered with the Teaching Council of Zambia.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Conducts annual training and development needs assessment.
• Develops training and development programs and objectives.
• Administers spending against the departmental budget.
• Obtains and /or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media and systems.
• Trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.
• Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for employee development and training events.
• Develops and maintains organizational communications such as intranet bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.

Skills and Competencies
• At least five years of direct Human Resource experience required, to include experience in all HR related duties especially Training.

• High degree of external and internal contact with people at all levels requiring excellent skills in both verbal and written communication
• Experience in lieu of education will be considered, if the experience is in addition to the experience stated above and formal human resource training through seminars, workshops, etc. is included.
• Ability to effectively communicate HR concepts to non-HR staff.
• Must have very good computer skills and the ability to learn HRMS system.
• Must have proficient Microsoft skills.

Qualifications

• MBA will be an added advantage.
• Language proficiency – English speaking candidate will be preferred, and French will be an added advantage.
