It operates underground and open pit mines located at Nchanga and Konkola. To support the vision KMRL would like to recruit a qualified and experienced individual for the below position in the Security Department:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer

Job Purpose:
Direct and manage the overall security function (strategic, tactical and operational) and resources at the operations. in order to secure Company assets and the workforce, ensuring a safe and secure working environment.

Main Roles & Responsibilities will include:
• Head the security and intelligence of Konkola Copper Mines plc group operations
• Formulation and implementation of security, risk and loss control policies, systems, procedures and strategies for the Company
• Create a strong and reliable intelligence and information network
• Oversee the detection and investigation of cases and incidents involving loss to the Company
• Risk assessment, identification and developing risk profile matrices
• Maintain relationships with law enforcement and other related Government agencies to ensure maximum security in the areas of operations
• Ensure that all the Company facilities on the mine and the facility occupants are adequately protected against harm and loss twenty-four hours a day 365 days a year
• Advising management on modern security trend analysis
• Effective and proactive stakeholder management
• Any other duties aimed at loss/cost reduction to the company

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
• Grade 12 School Certificate
• Degree in Security or any Social Science
• Minimum of ten (10) years practical experience at senior level in security, law enforcement or military
• Highly developed acumen for providing high level policy and strategic advice on security matters
• Competent in incident/accident investigations
• High level understanding of all relevant legislation affecting investigations, security provision and safety of persons and assets in the mining industry in Zambia
• Experience in managing costs and budgeting
• Experience managing security operations in a large-scale mining environment will be an advantage
