JOB DETAILS:
United Gypsum Investments Ltd is the first and only company to manufacture and distribute the widest variety of gypsum related products and accessories in Zambia.
We are currently looking to hire a vibrant and experienced individual to take up the position of Production Engineer to be stationed at our Monze Mine Site.
We are searching for a reliable, innovative production engineer to oversee washing processes at our Monze Mine Site. You will join our growing team of professionals and be responsible for supervising staff, in charge of the washing plant and production operations at the plant. You will be required to ensure health and safety regulations are followed, training workers in the responsible use of machinery, identifying problems in the production line, troubleshooting equipment, and completing various administrative tasks.

KPA/I`s (Key Performance Areas/ Indictors)
1. Responsible for Supervising the production/washing processes of gypsum, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner.
2. Responsible for developing plans that improve production, costs, and labor required.
3. Diagnosing problems in the production line and providing effective and efficient solutions.
4. Establishing safety procedures and protocols that take the plant workers’ well-being into account.
5. Drawing up and implementing production and maintenance schedules tailor made for the effective and efficient running of the washing plant.
6. Analyzing all facets of production and making recommendations for improvement as well as drawing up all statutory reports required both for internal and external communication.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE.
1. Bachelor’s Degree or master’s in mechanical engineering.
2. Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
3. Holder of current Zambian Blasting license and valid First Aid Certificate.
4. Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in mineral processing plants. (Cement and limestone processing plant experience will be an added advantage).
5. Experience with working in a culturally diverse environment.

Job description:

Overall Job Purpose
The purpose of the Reliability Engineer is to identify equipment reliability risks using analytics and analysis tools to recommend and/or lead the risk elimination and mitigation measures
Specific Job Responsibility
The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;
• Collaborate with maintenance execution and supporting departments to develop and/or implement equipment reliability improvements
• Analyze data from the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Fleet Management System (FMS), and Health Monitoring System (HMS) to recommend and implement cost-reduction solutions and maintenance improvement
• Develop and maintain data summarization and reporting tools
• Carry out root cause of failure analysis on repeated and/or high-impact equipment failures to eliminate and/or minimize the occurrence
• Monitor work management, availability, maintainability and reliability KPIs
• Review and revise maintenance strategies based on failure analysis and cost optimization
• Develop, review and revise asset management workflows and processes
• Maintain condition monitoring software and hardware to ensure effective condition-based maintenance
• Review condition monitoring reports and ensure corrective actions are communicated to the executing teams
• Research and deploy new technologies to improve equipment reliability and/or reduce asset maintenance costs
• Collaborate with the OEMs to drive continuous improvement activities
• Develop and support personnel in the usage of reliability-based methodology, bad actor identification and maintenance KPI monitoring.
• Review equipment preventive maintenance service inspection sheets to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of PM service execution
• Develop and support condition monitoring analysts carrying out predictive maintenance tasks
• Audit workspace and equipment contamination control to prevent premature failure of components
• Coach maintenance personnel on good reliability practices
Experience & Qualifications
• At least 2 years of experience in the mining/mineral or processing industry.
• At least 2 years of experience with maintenance and reliability systems (ERP or CMMS, monitoring systems, Mine Care, Dispatch and/or databases in general).
• A Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic engineers
• Certification ARP or CMRP CRE
• Valid driver’s license

JOB DETAILS:
Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly committed employee for the position of Projects Geotechnical Engineer to join the versatile Mineral Resource Management team.
To support the Geotechnical Superintendent on geotechnical logging, rock and soil sampling and geotechnical drilling QAQC. Provide a leadership role to the logging Geotechnical Engineers. Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• Carry out all work in compliance to relevant procedures and Zambian regulatory requirements,
• Supervise geotechnical investigation drilling and ensure quality core is recovered with good quality orientation markings.
• Ensure drilling sites are prepared in advance and all requirements for each drill site are in place.
• Carry out lithological and structural logging of geological and geotechnical exploration holes on the drilling site or in the core shed.
• Ensure the core is properly secured and transported to the core shed for storage or further processing
• Carry out point load testing on selected core pieces as directed by the Senior Geotechnical Engineer.
• Ensure that core samples for rock strength testing are selected and well parked in readiness for shipping to the Labs for testing.
• Ensure the logging data is accurately entered into the database.
• Continually improve their geotechnical skills by way of working through the geotechnical skills matrix and seeking guidance and mentorship from the Senior Geotechnical Engineer.
• Carryout rock mass characterisation from the logging data.
• Structural data interpretation using Dips software.
• Ensure geotechnical logging tools are well maintained.
• Provide mentorship to the junior geotechnical logging engineers.
• Ensure effective communication with delegate prior to departure from site.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
• BSc in Mining Engineering/Geology.
• Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia.
• Experience (4 years) in the Mining industry.
• Experience with geology/geotechnical logging.
• Able to clearly demonstrate the aptitude to drive a light vehicle and hold a current Zambian driver’s licence or be able to obtain one.
• Be physically fit and be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Proven ability to deliver results and act as a change agent.
• Demonstrated application of continuous improvement ideas.
