Job Purpose.

Reporting to the Clinical Officer, the purpose of the job is to advocate and care for individuals and support them through health and illness.

Main Responsibilities
• Undertake nursing care procedures in order to facilitate quickly recovery
• Undertake timely updating and maintenance of patients records in order to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of information
• Undertake timely prescribing and administration of basic treatment on order to enhance patients’ recovery

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Child Health and Immunisation Advisor, in collaboration with two designated Momentum Country and Global Leadership (MCGL) Provincial Child Health and Immunisation Advisors, will work closely with the relevant units at all levels of the Ministry of Health (MOH) and with respective implementing partners to plan, implement and evaluate Child Health and Immunisation interventions in target districts in Central and Northern provinces. The Child Health and Immunisation Advisor will be based in Lusaka with frequent travel to provinces. He/she will: represent MCGL at various national technical working groups and committees related to child health and immunization; ensure deliverables within their technical area are implemented according to the set work plan; and ensure that best practices and key lessons learned are captured. On a day-to-day basis, he/she will work under the direction of the MCGL Project Lead.

Position: Pediatric, Adolescent, and Clinical Lead Mentor
Location: Northern, Luapula & Muchinga Province

Essential Duties: Oversee Pediatric and Adolescent daily operations to ensure high levels of productivity, evaluate reported data to proactively adjust and enhance operations , develop monitoring and impact indicators for pediatric and adolescent health success , identify bottlenecks in completing project activities and developing plans to minimize or eliminate project risks, suggest strategies to management teams for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of project strategies and activities, identify plans and resources required to meet pediatric and adolescent objectives, learning methodologies and best practices, identify tools that most effectively build the capacity of project staff, maximize performance by monitoring and mentoring team members, evaluate project staff strengths and assign tasks based upon experience and training, report progress reports on all project activities consistent with the prime’s approved indicators and implement the M&E Plan with support from the provincial and National M&E and Project Manager/Coordinators.

Avencion has created a Health Leadership Program dedicated to empowering the Zambian youths who have an interest in developing their career in the global health sector. Applicants selected for internships must successfully complete a 5- day, of pre-internship training. Upon completion, participants will be placed at our headquarters, provincial or district health office or at a health facility – and will be eligible for a competitive monthly stipend. The monthly stipend is intended to defray costs associated with transportation to and from the workplace and participation in required health leadership training and activities.
