MAIN REQUIREMENTS
(a) Minimum Secondary Education
Form V/Grade 12 School Certificate with Five (5) Credits or better
(b) Minimum Vocational/ Professional Qualifications
Craft Certificate in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechanical/Electrical. and Vehicle Engineering) and Must be a Member of EIZ
(c) Minimum Relevant Pre-job Experience:

Workshop Technician reporting to Workshop Supervisor x 5
Among other responsibilities, you are expected to:
• Maintaining and repairing all types of mechanical and electrical machinery and equipment
• Repairing and inspecting all mechanical machinery as per schedule and instruction from supervisor
• Ensuring that policies and procedures are applied as per FES standards
• Achieving team and individual goals that are set out in accordance with the FES system
• Following specific methodologies in repair work to ensure availability and reliability of the machinery
• Adhering to all health and safety regulations
If you have the following:
• Minimum Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering/diesel mechanic trade
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Agricultural Machinery

JOB DETAILS:
A growing organization in the food and beverage industry is looking for a trained and certified individual to fill the role of Mechanical/electrical maintenance technician. You will be required to install, maintain and repair all mechanical equipment and machinery, liaise with the team regarding the maintenance plan and adhere to safety health environment and quality systems, among other duties. Three to four years of experience is required for this role.
NOTE: The Expected machine types are bottle washing, filling and capping machines , Reverse osmosis system, labeling machines, blowing machines, chillers, shrink wrapping machine, Air compressors, injections machines, and conveyors

Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Operating equipment in the utility area according to the work instructions and adhering to usage standards.
• Carrying out the required quality checks as described in the quality control and analyses work practice.
• Carry out in-depth cleaning, lubrication and inspection of machines according to the work instructions, and following the schedules supplied by the manufacturer.
• Carrying out routine maintenance activities according to the maintenance schedule.
• During major overhauls and major services, the mechanical technician will fulfil the leading role, instructing operators to assist.
• Complete the scheduled inspection or testing according to statuary requirements
• Making use of relevant communication media (e.g. shift logbook) to stay informed and inform others of issues.
• Proven ability to foresee and act against potential risks to the business/system as a whole.
• Installations, maintenance and repairs of all mechanical equipment and machinery
• Recommends cost saving best practices to management
• Attends swiftly and timeously to electrical and mechanical faults reported to the maintenance team
• Discusses work that requires priority and then monitors progress on the work updating the supervisors daily.
• Checks all machines daily and ensures that they are working correctly
• Liaises with the supervisors on spare parts or outwork required to complete the job
• Adhere to safety health environment and quality systems

Key Duties and Responsibilities of a Geological Engineer
• Assessing the quality of rock, soil, water and other site conditions
• Completing site analyses and foundation designs
• Mitigating against geologic hazards
• Lab sampling
• Ensuring that all geology work is undertaken in a safe and environmentally friendly manner

Academic Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor Degree in Mineral Science (Geology) or equivalent.
• Competence certificate in Mineral Resource estimation will be added advantage.
• Member of a Geoscience professional body.
• 1 to 3 years’ experience in a similar mineral resource estimation role.
• Knowledge of Inorganic Non-Metallic Raw Materials a must
• Knowledge of Geological Prospecting a must
