Job description:
Purpose of the Role
:
The Grill Chef will be responsible for cutting, weighing, labelling, packing and storing meat and other related products in line with established standards as well as preparation of grilled foods to customer satisfaction.

Specific Job Responsibilities:
• Ensure that the menu items are prepared on time.
• Braising and grilling meat and vegetables.
• Slicing, cutting, shredding, tenderizing, skewering meat and vegetables.
• Preparing meals in accordance with customer’s preferences.
• Checking that ingredients remains fresh and safe for consumption.
• Ensure that the kitchen and work area is clean at all times.
• Must be able to prepare all sauces.
• Liaising with waitrons once orders are finalized and ready to be saved.
• Informing the manager when equipment is due for maintenance, repair, or replacement.
• Ensure that all perishable products are kept in safe manner and away from other products.
• Ensure that all the vegetables are packed, sliced and prepares for services.
• Comply with food hygiene, safety and health protocols.
• Ability to safely use equipment.
• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience:
• Grade 12 school certificate.
• Diploma in food production or relative field.
• 2-5 years’ work experience in similar role

The purpose of this role is to enhance customer satisfaction by maintaining and expanding our clientele in quality pastry, desserts and bakery products using traditional and modern methods as well as assist the sous chef and head chef to prepare variety of cakes, bread, rolls, pastries and biscuits following the tradition and modern method.

• Ensure that the kitchen and work area is clean at all times.
• Must be able to prepare all sauces.
• Ensure proper storage of all raw and baked products.
• Ensure that all perishable products are kept in safe manner and away from other products.
• Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings and make them look representable
• Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget.
• Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking.
• Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently.
• Comply with food hygiene, safety and health protocols.
• Ability to safely use equipment
• Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by the supervisor
