PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To provide financial reporting and compliance support to the Finance Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Management:

  • Adhere to the annual Performance Management process, resulting in a formal development plan per Dynamo
  • Regular communication with team members sharing company information and conducting monthly check-ins

Accurate and timely data recording:

  • Accurately prepare accounting entries for review and processing
  • Ensure all deliverables are submitted on time
  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations

Management Reporting:

  • Prepare the monthly Budget Variance reports (BVAR) for all cost centres in the correct format and distribute them to the relevant parties
  • Investigate variances and queries timeously

Accounts payable:

  • Execute all payments and ensure compliance to standard operating procedures and internal controls

Accounts receivable:

  • Timely and accurate issuance of all invoices
  • Ensure all invoices are compliant with local regulations and tax requirements

Treasury Management:

  • Reconciliation of store cash, card and mobile money transactions
  • Manage the import payment process

Stock administration:

  • Accurate accounting of all stock entries including price adjustments and stock losses

Tax compliance:

  • Ensure compliance to tax regulations at all times
  • Calculation, submission and payment of the various returns (VAT, WHT, Rental Tax, etc.)
  • Assist with notifications/inspections from the ZRA and other supervisory entities
  • Keep abreast of all pertinent tax law changes

Risk and Compliance:

  • Administration of license renewals (e.g. trading license, import license, etc.)
  • Keep abreast of changes and ensure compliance to the country’s financial regulations and legislation

JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years’ experience in a financial related environment
  • Degree in Accounting and Finance or equivalent
  • Proficient in International Accounting Standards (IFRS)
  • Knowledge of financial control environment and governance
  • Proficiency in the use of accounting software, commercial and financial calculation
  • Knowledge of commercial and corporate law
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in English
