INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for digital innovation and operational excellence? World Vision Zambia Limited is offering an exciting internship opportunity within the ICT Unit. The successful candidate will support the design, development, and deployment of a secure Field Finance Tracker application that strengthens real-time financial reporting and accountability. This role provides hands-on exposure to systems development within the development sector, allowing you to build practical skills in mobile and web application development while contributing to improved efficiency, transparency, and service delivery.
POSITION: App Developer / ICT Programming Intern
LOCATION: Lusaka
Major Responsibilities:
- Design and develop a secure Field Finance Tracker application for World Vision Zambia Limited.
- Analyse system requirements from finance, DME, and field teams to ensure the solution meets operational needs.
- Design system architecture for both mobile and web platforms.
- Develop features that enable real-time financial transaction capture, activity linking, and reporting.
- Build database structures, user interfaces, and configure secure user roles and access controls.
- Conduct unit and system testing to identify and resolve bugs and performance issues.
- Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and incorporate feedback into system improvements.
- Deploy and configure the application in pilot sites, including hosting and database setup.
- Train finance and field users and provide onboarding support during rollout.
- Provide ongoing technical support, system maintenance, documentation, and prepare the system for long-term sustainability and handover.
Education/Technical Skills/Experience, & Required Attributes:
- Educational Level: A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, ICT, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required, with final-year students or recent graduates eligible.
- Technical Skills: Ability to design, develop, test, and deploy mobile and/or web-based applications using modern programming tools and technologies.
- Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical users and provide effective user support and training.
- Experience: Entry-level position suitable for graduates with foundational knowledge in application development and a willingness to learn.
- Experience: Entry Level
- No criminal record
- A mature Christian
