Position Overview:

The Artisan Foreman will lead and supervise maintenance activities on heavy equipment to ensure all repairs meet Mopani’s high standards and comply with established codes and procedures. This full-time role requires hands-on leadership to coordinate teams, optimize equipment reliability, and minimize downtime across Mopani’s operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance and repair work on heavy equipment adheres to Mopani Codes of Practice and maintenance procedures.
• Supervise and coordinate subordinates engaged in maintenance tasks, ensuring quality workmanship and timely completion.
• Provide training, coaching, and development opportunities through on-the-job guidance and exposure to relevant maintenance procedures.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to identify materials, tools, equipment, and labor requirements aligned with work schedules.
• Oversee routine and planned maintenance activities to sustain equipment availability and reliability.
• Work closely with operating personnel and servicing teams to reduce equipment downtime and production interruptions.
• Promote teamwork, cooperation, and positive working relationships within the maintenance section.
• Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and company policies to prevent accidents and protect property.
• Recommend improvements to maintenance methods and procedures to enhance performance and productivity.

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Craft Certificate in Heavy Equipment Repairs or higher qualification.
• Minimum of three years’ relevant experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Computer literacy is an advantage.
• Registration with the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ) is required.
• All academic qualifications must be verified and certified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority.
• Proven ability to work independently, focus on results, and align with company policies and objectives.
