Job Description

Job Purpose

The Audio Visual (AV) Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining and supporting audio visual systems across the hotel to ensure successful meetings, conferences, banquets and events while delivering excellent guest service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, test, operate and dismantle audio visual equipment for meetings, conferences, weddings and events.
  • Provide technical support during events and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain projectors, displays, sound systems, microphones, lighting and conferencing equipment.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance and keep maintenance records.
  • Work with Conference & Banqueting, Sales and IT to understand event requirements.
  • Support video conferencing and presentation connectivity.
  • Maintain an inventory of AV equipment and recommend replacements when required.
  • Follow health and safety procedures and ensure safe cable management.
  • Provide courteous and professional guest service.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Audio Visual Technology, Electronics, Information Technology or related field.
  • At least two years’ experience in a hotel, conference centre or events environment.
  • Knowledge of professional AV equipment and basic networking.
  • Good communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.
