Job Summary:

We are seeking a versatile and precise Carpenter to handle the construction, installation, and repair of wooden structures and fixtures. This role requires the ability to work in a sensitive environment, ensuring that all carpentry work—from door frames to cabinetry—meets the functional and safety needs of a specialized hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard, including doors, windows, cabinets, and furniture.
  • Inspect and replace damaged ceiling tiles, baseboards, and handrails to ensure patient and visitor safety.
  • Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials according to blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions.
  • Install door hardware, including locks, closers, and panic hardware, ensuring compliance with fire safety and accessibility codes (ADA).
  • Perform rough framing and finish work as needed for hospital renovations or office modifications.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, using dust control methods when working near patient rooms.
  • Troubleshoot and repair structural issues promptly, especially in high-traffic areas.
  • Maintain tools and equipment; manage inventory of lumber and hardware.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in commercial or residential carpentry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery. Ability to read technical drawings.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Understanding of fire-rated assemblies and hospital-grade hardware is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, climb, and lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs).
  • Compliance: Must pass a background check and health screening.
