Background

Makeni Institute Trust, a charitable organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable and orphaned children through education and social development, is seeking a highly experienced and competent Civil Works Foreman to oversee and manage construction and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily site activities and workforce

Interpret construction drawings and ensure accurate implementation

Carry out and oversee setting out of works, including concrete structures and drainage systems

Ensure quality control and adherence to project specifications

Work with and manage surveying and instrumentation equipment

Monitor project progress and report to management

Enforce health and safety standards on site

Minimum Requirements

At least 10 years of proven experience in civil works/construction

Demonstrated experience in:

Setting out concrete works

Drainage construction

Use of surveying/instrumentation equipment (e.g., levels, total stations)

Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings

Excellent leadership and team management skills

Good problem-solving and decision-making ability

Added Advantages

Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction, or related field
