Background

Musikili Primary School is seeking an exceptional Director of Sport to lead our vibrant sports programme from January 2027 (or by agreement).

Founded in 1987, Musikili Primary School is a leading independent, co-educational day and boarding school for pupils from Grade R to Grade 7. Situated in Mazabuka, Zambia, Musikili offers a welcoming and stimulating learning environment in which academic learning, sport, culture, character and community life work together.

Responsibilities

The ability to lead staff, manage fixtures, tours and events, and contribute to the wider life of the school.

Qualifications

We're looking for an experienced educator and sports leader who is passionate about developing young people through sport and can inspire a culture of participation, excellence, teamwork and sportsmanship.

Requirements

We're looking for someone who has:

• Proven leadership experience in school sport
• A recognised teaching qualification
• Strong coaching and organisational skills
• A passion for developing children both on and off the field

ESSENTIAL requirements include:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Sport, or a related field (or an undergraduate degree with a recognised postgraduate teaching qualification)
• Current registration with a recognised teaching council (e.g. SACE or equivalent)
• Proven experience as a Director of Sport, Head of Sport, Sports Coordinator, or in a similar school leadership role
• At least 2 years of successful classroom teaching experience (preferred)
• Strong coaching background, particularly in traditional school sports such as cricket, rugby, tennis or netball
• Demonstrated experience managing sports programmes, fixtures, budgets, facilities and staff
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
