J&J Transport Zambia Limited is growing and seeking an experienced, committed, and proactive professional to join our dynamic team in Lusaka.
We are hiring an experienced, hands on Driver Trainer to facilitate the development and implementation of transportation & safety education programs.
Key Responsibilities
- To promote positive and safe driving attitudes, safe driving practices and a healthy work environment
- Instruct, supervise and monitor drivers and candidates in training actions in all phases of training and ensure drivers compliance with program policy
- Ensure all instructional materials are appropriate for programs taught and relay recommendations for change
- Co-ordinate and participate in accident/incident investigations, near miss reports and HSES statistics, to facilitate informed management decisions
- Present instruction in a professional, timely manner consistent with Truck Driver training policies and procedures
- Evaluate driver candidates on the road and develop training reports for Operations, HR, and HSES as part of drivers management process
- Document any potential driver problems
- Work with the HSES Officer to develop, review, and revise safe working procedures and assist in the development of risk assessments and environments to identify potential hazards and ensure that adequate controls are in place
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Relevant driver training certification and experience as a trainer in HSES programs and processes
- Experience: Minimum of 15 years cross border truck driving and minimum 5 years’ experience as a Truck Driver Trainer. (Holder of class DG driver’s licence).
- Age: 37 years and above
- Skills: Proactive problem-solving, initiative-driven, and adaptable to dynamic work environments, excellent
- Others: Accident investigation training/ strong technical knowledge/ computer literate and good reporting skills.
- Availability: Willingness to work weekends and rotational public holidays as needed and must be a resident in the area.
