Job Purpose

The Heavy-Duty Auto Electrician will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving electrical faults in heavy-duty buses, excavators, bulldozers, trucks, crawler cranes, generators, and compressors. Other duties will include installing and repairing electrical wiring, diagnosing problems with vehicle electrical systems, repairing damaged electrical parts, and maintaining electrical equipment for the Company.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical diagrams;
  • Repairing and replacing wiring, sensors, alternators, starter motors, and electronic components;
  • Diagnosing faults in charging, starting, and electronic control systems;
  • Maintain and calibrate electronic controls on heavy equipment, including hydraulic control valves, automated transmissions, and generator control panels.
  • Conduct routine inspections on mobile equipment to prevent field breakdowns and ensure compliance with workplace safety standards
  • Diagnosing electrical issues and proposing a course of action
  • Repairing and replacing faulty wiring or electrical systems.
  • Servicing of electrical automotive parts.
  • Working on 12V, 24V, and industrial electrical systems;
  • Provide technical support in preventive and corrective interventions;
  • Ensuring compliance with the safety and quality standards defined by the company.
  • Maintain standards of safety and comply with Company’s Health, Safety & Environment Management System requirements

Required Skills and Competencies 

  • Good command of English (spoken and written);
  • Team spirit and professional attitude.
  • Ability to work in a high-responsibility environment;
  • Complex problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to operate electrical diagnostic equipment.
  • Diagnostic skills using electrical measurement tools (Multimeter, Clamp Meter, etc.);
Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Craft Certificate in Auto electrical from recognized institution
  • A Certificate in Heavy Equipment Repair or Auto Mechanics
  • Must have a minimum of 5-7 years proven work experience as a Heavy-Duty Auto Electrician (Buses and Trucks)
  • Experience working on Scania Trucks, Buses and engines will be a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of modern heavy-duty vehicle electrical systems.
  • Should have extensive knowledge of modern and Chinese systems with proven record Heavy equipment Repair.
  • Proven experience as an auto electrician in heavy equipment or construction machinery will be a plus
  • Good knowledge of alternating current (AC) and direct current (DC);
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding operational deadlines;
  • Be able to read and make use of vehicle electrical wiring diagrams
