Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit highly committed employees for the position of IT Support Officer - LEP (Fixed Term) to join the Project Department. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick's DNA by:

Reporting to the Specialist - Network and Communications, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our staff, ensuring all IT systems and services are running smoothly and effectively.


Your duties will include but are not limited to the following: 


  • Support the service delivery team to ensure that user issues are resolved in a timely manner.
    •    Collaborate with other sections in providing service delivery to the organization.
    •    Develop and maintain document job procedures for all tasks performed within the function
    •    Offer 1st level and 2nd level technical support to end users.
    •    Management of service desk and service level agreements (SLA)
    •    Desktop, laptop, tablets, and Mobile phone standard set up, roll out, support, repair and servicing.
    •    IT Asset Management and IT equipment storage.
    •    Support business information systems such as Elements, SAP, Timeclocks System, SKF.
    •    Managing all end user needs e.g. equipment problems and other IT related issues.
    •    Work in collaboration with other IT sections to offer application support, Network Support and Server infrastructure support/Management.
    •    Develop objectives for sharing common infrastructure and support services across Barrick and cascade this throughout function.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
    •    Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Hardware, Computer Networking or equivalent.
    •    Minimum of two (2) years' experience in the IT sector (mostly Networking and computer hardware).
    •    Professional Certifications in ITIL, Networking or computer hardware shall be an added advantage.
    •    Experience in supporting IT infrastructures i.e. Windows Server, Active Directory and SharePoint.
    •    Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
    •    Member of relevant Professional Body
    •    Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
    •    Hold a current Zambian manual driver's license.
